Worst scam site?
« on: July 10, 2014, 09:03:21 AM »
We've all seen those horrible ads in our time as denizens of the internet. "Make $500 a day with no work!" they scream from their garishly coloured advertisements. "I'm the former head of the US treasury and I'm about to let you in on a little known secret" says another.

But what is the absolute worst scam ad that you've came across in your time? The one that you didn't even shake your head at. The one that was just so obvious that you couldn't do anything but laugh at the ridiculous of it.

I've come across a number of those: "How To Make $1 Million Secret." Well, quite obviously most people don't fall for that.

The worst scam IMO isn't one which you instantly recognize as a scam. IMO, the worst is the scam where you don't notice that you're being deceived and you put in time but in the end . . .

That's how most writing jobs on Digital Point go. They appear legit and probably you hear enough about how easy it easy to get work on DP but the moment you do, it's the last time you apply for a job on the site.

The DP scams IMO are the worst on the net because a lot of writers have wasted their time writing for clients who don't pay.

God, I hadn't even considered that. That would be so much more annoying than the obvious ones.

Whats worse would be the kind that keeps you hoping and thinking you're getting big money in just a few more days, after you've done your writing, or whatever job it is.

I don't have a problem with blatant scam sites because MOST people will recognize them as scams immediately. I have a huge problem with sites that aren't scams per se, but they pay you slave labor wages. Sure, not getting paid at all sucks, but you probably won't waste tons of time doing it. If you find a site that pays a little, then you might be desperate enough to spend hours and hours each week on these sites earning next to nothing.

I have the biggest problem with those sites, and tons of them exist right now.

Well, that's every site online really, isn't it? Or are you holding out on us, keeping some really well paying site to yourself and not sharing with the community?

I usually just run into those scams you get in the mail where they say "If you send this much money to these three people, then within a week you will earn more money" And I think the last one I got was something like 800k for the value of money you could get within a month. They can't trick me!

"Make one thousand dollars per day just browsing the internet."

That one, I didn't even laugh.

Believe it or not, making that much money online a day is possible. It's just that...well, you're putting in a lot of work to get there in the first place. And you really need to know a lot about SEO and such. It's possible, just not likely, which seems to be what a lot of these sites live off of. 'One person can make this much with us, so why aren't you?'

It wasn't a site, but the worst ever scam i have been through was in sale of GC's.He was a reputed member on the forum and he asked me to contact on skype for AMazon GC's buying..I Sold him cards worth a $100 but that bast**d never replied after he got the cards..
The rules of the forum were such that lower rep members have to go first..

Surfjunky.com was the first ever site i was scammed with.

It really sucked because i had obtained all those cards after slogging for about a month or two.I really slogged it out and within an instant i was depreived of the money i deserved.I filed a scam report, but it was dismissed because i didn't have a valid proof. The skype chat too was not accpeted because the name sounded different altogether..

I know that sometimes you cannot help but to see the huge amount of cash mentioned in these ads. If it seem too good to be true then it is obviously a scam. Online work requires a lot of time and effort and is not just a 'get rich quick from on fix' thing. If it was such an easy way of getting those big bucks then everyone would quit their regular jobs and be at home working.

I also do not think that lots will fall on those kind of obvious scam sites like earn a million at home with doing nothing or pay 1 dollar and be millionaire in a week.
I have been scammed several times by paid to click sites cause I thought before that all these sites are legit for staying too long in the net. I have learned that not because a site is alive online for years, it automatically means it is legit.

Anything that's advertised in side banners are automatically scams in my opinion. I hear that they deliberately make it obvious so that only their easiest targets would be gullible enough to click it.

I recently saw one where all you had to was browse websites for at least 30 minutes, for $5!! -and the catch? The minimum cash-out threshold was $5 0000! I actually burst out laughing! These guys had the audacity to put up some "proof of payments" from their very happy employees.
