I've never fallen for a full-on scam (yet, thankfully). But there are a lot of sites that seem to promise the earth and I wonder how legitimate they really are. I did a job proofreading some sites a while back, on behalf of the creator of some "amazing survey opportunities". Let's just say some of the claims were pretty outrageous and I suggested toning some of the claims down. They did...

It was not so long ago on Instagram.  It had to do with emails.  It was so annoying because they put up graph pictures and "testimonial" videos and whetever else.  I checked out the site and you had to pay $25 registration fee.  Ummmm...yeah, okay, sure.  Then the next day I saw a screenshot of the money they were making off of email processing.  Can you guess?  It was all $25 transactions.  Yah, I'm sure you did A LOT of email processing.  It's sad though that there are people that pay for it.  I need the money.  I don't even have enough to buy a ticket (movie reference, sorry).  But if I did...I would not be paying $25 for it.  You want me to pay a registration fee?  Cover it for me, and I'll pay you back when I make double the fee.  smh

Co-incidentally, this morning I ran into a site called $2 dollars per click, and upon research just for a second or so, I found out that it is a scam site, and no one has been paid. Sometimes when we are desperate to make money, and it sounds so good, we just go for it. This site is a no-no!

I've come across $2 click before - it seems that the minimum withdrawal amount was $5000!  Bunch of scam artists!

If it seems too good to be true, just stay away!

Yes, there are some websites that just scream scam.  Another example of one that screams scam is make $75 an hour doing surveys.  First of all no survey website that is legitiamte is going to pay this from what I have seen.  Also, this is usually an advertisement for a website that is selling a program. The program gives you a list of survey websites, then you have to sign up with these, and lots of luck getting the surveys along with being qualified for them.  Yes, I admit it I fell for this one in the past, but now I know that such an ad is a scam.

It's definitely going to be PaidVerts for me. It's a PTC website, and it never worked effectively on my end. I even invested money in them because they claimed I would receive higher PTC offers once I buy one of their programs, but it still never became profitable for me. This is probably the worst site I have ever encountered while working online.

There are a lot of sites that promise work from home with thousands made in a week and they do seem more suited for marketing and people who understand how it works, but usually require paying money which is not a good sign. The Nigerian scams are the worst as it shows people claiming they are a relative and need your details to send the money, and goes to show they need money to be sent and need to look away from that one as it is easy to fall for it. I reckon that it is very important to check if it is true and in most cases, these sorts of sites are just trying to make money from you in the end.

There are so many scams these days, you think what is a real scam? I consider it of you have to pay upfront for anything even a subscription because there is no guarantee that they will send you any information or worthy information.

As for ad revenue sharing sites, I consider them a transparent scam as they owner only has to 'share' and they decide how much and when to share. They tell you that, but there is no transparency as in you get to see their statistics or earnings, so how can you ever be sure?

Sites where you exchange points for cash or gift cards are to me never real work and they do this so you are never classed as an employee. The emphasis is that you have fun and get a bonus. Even when these sites do work, they can shut down quickly and the points are then worthless.

I hate the ones that tell you that you can make $500 a day and guess what??? It's free to start! What they don't tell you up front is that it's free to put in your email and register, but in order to make money, you have to pay somesort of "monthly subscription". Basically the way you make money from these is by luring inother people and your money comes from them paying THEIR monthly subscription.

One scam site I signed up with and regret I did was a site called pay for youth. They say they're a referral site where you refer people and are paid $5 for each referral and they also said that minimum pay out is $300. I signed up and began to refer people on my contacts. At the time of cashing out, they changed the site name.

Any site that promises unrealistic earnings should be approached with caution, especially when there are registration fees involved. I recently signed up with outsource dot com and was overwhelmed with high paying job requests that I could only access after buying some credits from the company. Just another scam.

By researching online and by reading posts on some forums somehow I am already warned of scam sites. I had never encountered the worst yet but the only kind I can tell will be PTC sites. Not all though but most of them may pay at first to gain your trust but later on you will never hear again from them

The worst scam sites I have ever ran into and actually operated on must have been click sense, neobux and those types of sites. Paid referrals to click links for you? That is way too obvious to be scam because they are not all real people, at least 90% if not all of them are robots being controlled to click on links for you. 100% scam.

That is a hard question to answer because there are so many to choose from. I have never invested big money into a scam site, but I have wasted my time on a few like Vindale and Panda Research which promise big rewards which never materialize. More likely than scams though are sites like this, that simply waste your time.
