ReceiptPal
« on: September 20, 2014, 02:45:21 PM »
ReceiptPal is a smartphone app, just like Receipt Hog, that rewards you to enter in receipts. You can enter in almost all your big box retailers and smaller stores. Gas station receipts with food are welcomed as well. You are limited to how many a day you can enter and by dates. If you shop 7 stores in one day, you can only enter 2 and get credit. You can enter 2 the next day and get credit for them though. It also accepts receipts up to 7 days prior the date you're entering in.

I have cashed out multiple times on this app so I know they pay and is very legit.

This sounds really interesting.  I will check out the app and see if I want to do it.  It's good to know that they pay and are legit because I don't want to download too many things on my phone in case it is not legit.

It says that they only accept receipts that are in US currency. I wonder if Paypal purchases are accepted and they accept international members? Can any one confirm if people outside the US can avail of this?

Oh, I am definitely checking out this app.  I already use Receipt Hog and love it.  It's always great to add another little egg into my app basket.  I really like these types of apps that give your rewards for shopping. They bring in some very nice spending money.

Bi-Mart is the only "big box retailer" in my town, but we have Safeway and Albertsons.  Do these stores work?  What about a local food co-op? That is where I do the most food shopping.

You can use ANY store around you as long as it is a grocery store. They don't have specific stores that you can use. It's a freewill store that you choose to shop at which makes this app so open for anyone to use.

Ugh...I love the concept of these kinds of apps and most of the time they seem pretty simple and straightforward, but I hate that it's almost always smart phone exclusive. I have a plain old "dumb" phone at the moment and so all the apps like that are unusable for me :(.

Do you usually cash out at the $5 mark or wait to earn more?  I find it takes a while to get enough receipts just to cash out I don't know if it is worth it to wait or not?
I think this app is a lot better then receipt hog, which takes so long to earn points.  It also don't accept all the receipts.

This thread is now over a year old and maybe the site has changed the way they work because I can't find any mention about people getting paid, but earning points exchangeable for prizes and participation in sweepstakes, check this out:

Thanks for the update digitalpoint, quite fascinating to see the number of ways we can make some extra bucks. Not huge money sure, but some money that definitely helps out at the end of the week.

I like ReceiptPal app so much better than ReceiptHog, because they accept almost every receipt that I have submitted, including restaurant receipts. One trick I learned is that if you are doing a big shopping trip in one store, break them up into two to three receipts, (they accept 3 receipts from one store) since each receipt will earn you 50 points (150 points total). Whereas you submit one big receipt, you still only earn 50 points.

That's pretty interesting. I wonder if this is also available to international users. I am somewhere from Asia, but I would love to try, and make some money through this app.

I just registered for this app today, but apparently they are "out of slots for new users". That's a new one! I had to give my email address and they will let me know when someone backs out so I can start using the app. Oh well.
