You can get cheated out of points for blogs. Let's say a blog allows 3 comments a day, but they moderate posts. You post your 3 comments everyday, but the site owner takes a week to moderate any comments. You will have posted 21 comments but only get credit for 3. Ryan refuses to deal with this claiming that since you weren't given the other 19 points to begin with you never lost points. It is ridiculous. I only do moderated blogs if they moderate the comments daily or have unlimited comments. Some moderate the first couple comments from you then turn moderation off, these are okay.

I got lucky with one of the blogs and whatever comment I post on that blog automatically earns points at PL. I wasn't as lucky with the other blog of the same niche, however, and my comments are still under moderation after more than a week of posting. Blogs are fine if you have a background of the niche and you have a lot to share about the subjects/content.

Some of the Blogs are good. Others have a daily limit set+moderation and only release the comments every few weeks. When they finally release the comments you only get credit for that day. Postloop needs to put some rules in place about moderated comments and limits that make it a little more fair for the writers.

This is why I stay away from blogs as much as possible. I've only subscribed to a few blogs but it seems like I'm also not having any good experience with them. I do my part and post according to their daily limit and I wonder when they would finally approve my comments so I would get credited for them but the waiting time all the more makes me anxious if my comments would get approved or not. I still prefer the forums over the blogs and I only subscribe to the latter only if I don't have any choice because my subscriptions are either offline or disabled.

I have tried commenting on the blogs offered by Postloop. Yes, there's a lot more reading to be done. Yes, the comments are moderated before publication. Is it worth it? That depends on your time. If you are not in a rush, or you have time to kill, then there's nothing wrong with reading up a couple of blog posts and commenting on them. That's better than just plain reading. Some of the blogs contain interesting articles which I would have read even if I don't get paid for it.

I have noticed some blogs have been removed for whatever reason, maybe because owners were not giving posters points for the posts or have not moderated them?

I know one has been removed, but the owner hasn't been banned. I submitted one post and never got any credit (I do that as a test) and another that went down to -25 points has been 'lost' as well.

I think both forums and blogs can disappear overnight, so people shouldn't get too complacent about them.

I haven't checked out the blog section for some time now but the only 3 blogs that I am subscribed in are still active on my subscription list. I have been waiting for almost a month now for my comments to be approved and finally be credited on me but only one of them gave me my due points. Taking this into account, I think I will really stay away from the blogs because it's hard and long to get points out of them.

I would suggest that the blog owners on Postloop should start soliciting for guest posts in case of problems with treating content and should establish a mechanism to vet those who qualify. This would further make postloop a more successful site. I have thought of signing up with blogs but from the discussion above, I would rather concentrate on forums cognizant of the fact that there are some dry periods when the flow of work is low.

I recently received my highest rating so far from PL, a 5, and it is from a blog owner. The blog owner didn't just rate anonymously but made sure that his/her site will be acknowledged as the rater. I am not sure however, if the other blogs are like that, though because I know that another blog owner has given me a rating of 4. I now post comments on only 1 blog.

It seems everyone is not comfortable with Postloop blogs. I would just sign up and post quality comments when forums dry up. I have tried to sign up with some but have so far not commented because I can do this with more sustainable rewards elsewhere. The best strategy is to venture into other gigs when forums are not active. Is the rate of commenting on blogs the same as the one in forum posting?
