My experience with Pinecone Research
« on: January 03, 2015, 09:24:34 AM »
I signed up with the site over a month ago. I didn't hear anything at all, so I started to email them. They responded each time, saying that it was by invitation only. I have got three total surveys in the last approximately five weeks, and two of them were not true surveys, but updating my profile, so I didn't get the full three dollars. They have a wonderful catalog of reward prizes, but there is no way at the rate that they offer surveys I will ever be able to get anything. Their pay is better than any other survey site, I wish they would send me at least one a day, but I don't think it will happen.

Hang in there.  I had a similar experience when I first signed up.  After I got the message saying it was by invitation only I waited months before I was accepted.  I agree that they do not offer a lot of surveys but they do pay.  They are a legitimate company.  They are by no means a reliable source of income but when they do send me surveys they are worth my time.  Don't we all hate spending time on surveys just to get eliminated at the last moment?  That hasn't happened to me with Pinecone Research.  Another perk I like is the occasional free products.  I have done several product studies with them and received full size products.  Right now I probably get at least two surveys per month.  Give it some time I hope your experience will improve.

I did read that sometimes they give you products. How does that work? I believe they are legit. Yes, the pay is very good for a survey. The three I did were pretty short compared to most. I don't plan on quitting them, as it isn't a waste of time, like some of these others that get free information from you, then disqualify you without pay (Swag will give you a penny on up to five disqualified surveys, but they are the only one). I would enjoy getting daily surveys from Pinecone, because I don't think I would get disqualified. Do you know why they only offer such small amounts of surveys?

I felt the need to update this thread, although I only got one response. Pinecone Research is a touch and go, for me. What I mean is that sometimes the offers will come up weekly, and other times it is every 2-3 weeks. I have done two in the last two weeks, but before that, it was well over two weeks. I have yet to get any products sent to me, but that's okay. It would have been a perk, but not necessary. If your Paypal email is different than your email you signed up with, you have no choice but take the paper check option. It is okay though, because it's pretty quick in arriving. Overall, it is a nice company to have for some extra cash, but you can't rely on it exclusively.

They sent me butter once. Delivered by Purlator in one of those boxes with a cooler thing to keep it good. That was the only time I was sent an item. At the end of most surveys it will ask you if you want to test the product.

Every survey I have taken, I choose yes for products, but I have never received any? Do they send up a follow-up email to let you know something is coming, and ask for you to do a follow-up survey? They are usually very good at communications. The other day I missed an offer on a survey, and they re-sent it, and gave me a second chance to do it. I thought that was pretty cool of them. I'd like to get some more work through them, especially now, with so many disqualifications in other surveys.

I felt the need to update this thread. Pinecone Research has been really lucrative in the past two months. I was only going a few offers a month, but now it's about every three days. In the past I was constantly searching my email, to no avail, now I am getting so many, I don't always get them all done. But believe me, I try! $3.00 a survey is by far the best pay for surveys. I do get a little disappointed with the amount of "household questions" they send, as they are non-paid (but generally shorter) surveys, that are meant to understand the survey-taker's household, and get the appropriate surveys to them. I also appreciate the fast responses, and generally quick payments. Cashing out is also very fast. I am hanging on!

It does seem hit and miss. I was not accepted as my demographics don't suit their needs, but as I discovered it's GfK, they are such a huge company everything is computerized and based on their needs and the clients they have at the time.

I have done work for them in the past and it's not usually consistent for me. Maybe they prefer families where they can get more data from?

I was a member of Pinecone Research at one time.  But because I didn't keep track of when I got survey request I lost my membership.  According to the rules if you don't respond to I think it was two surveys sent to you your account can be deleted.  I still kick myself for allowing this to happen because Pinecone Research did give me a little more money per month.  My advice to you is to always stay on top of when they send you a survey request, this is the way to stay active with them.

I gave up on pinecone. But this post has given me a little hope so I'll hang in there. Hopefully it will pick up soon...

I went a while of getting no surveys either but now it is getting good! I am glad to be getting some again. Though the past couple weeks I have just got those ones where you update your profile but get no reward.

I have been getting about 3-4 surveys in a 7-day week. This is an all-time high for me. I usually hit everyone of them, because the best I am going to do on a survey otherwise, is a dollar. I am very disappointed if I miss one (I might miss one out of 8). The window is usually about 48 hours. They usually pay within 24 hours as well, which is nice when you need the money quickly. Their redemption section has been down since yesterday, which is a new one to me, I hope they get that fixed soon!

I have been a member of Pinecone for a long time. I don't remember if I had any difficulties signing up with them or not. They are one of the few survey sites I still do on a regular basis because they are consistent and always pay promptly. Also, there surveys are always manageable not like some sites. They are also prompt about getting back to you if you have a question.
