What you have heard about HubPages is true. It will take some work, and quality articles for you to qualify for a Google AdSense account. However, it will take longer than 6 months of contributing on HubPages to start earning a reasonable income. I've heard of writers taking 3 years or more to start earning income that is worth the effort. I guess, mileage varies for everyone. It will largely depend on the quality of articles and frequency in which you write them.

This is true, if you read the forums many people take over a year to cash out. Not only that, but the hubs can get a non-featured status if there is no traffic. That means you have to find a way to get it featured again, otherwise it won't show up.

One of the issues is the keywords in your subject title, if another member has used it then you can't. This does make it harder when you submit work, hence as you add your own Adsense, you may as well have your own site.

It's a lot of work and no guarantee of return, so in some ways you may as well have your own blog these days. Most people who do make money it's because they have been there for years or moved all their content over.

I have heard a lot of other writers say that it is impossible to make good money on HubPages because you have to produce content constantly and only 1 out of 25 will be a hit. I don't have time for that! I want work that I know will reward my efforts and not be so risky!

I'm not sure it's necessary to produce content constantly if you can come up with that "hit". Unfortunately I don't seem to write about topics everyone wants to read, so I haven't had that hit yet. Or maybe it's just a case of my being hopeless at promoting my content.

I have been with hubpages since 5 years. I have made most of my money online on Hubpages. Hubpages became one of the biggest content site after it acquired Squidoo, another content site, in 2014.
Good thing about Hubpages is if you publish SEO contents your articles will continue to earn for a long time.
On hubpages you can earn from adsense, hubpages earning program and Amazon. You could also earn from ebay, however, ebay has not been disabled.
