What is the purpose of Tellwut?
« on: February 12, 2015, 08:52:34 PM »
I have been on here a few days. I'm not sure I understand what kind of information they are collecting and how it is making them enough money to be paying out gift cards. The surveys all seem a little silly, so I can't figure out how the site is making money - which puts me on guard. Am I missing something? And someone explain it to me?

Also do you get more points if you are creating surveys? Is there something more than surveys to be doing on here for points?

I'm not sure how they collect data either since most of the surveys are created by the members of the site. I do think that you earn more points each time someone answers a poll you created, but I think that they don't accept every poll. I guess how they make their money is by those surveys that pay 200 points. I get offer for those all of the time in my email inbox. Those are probably the sponsored surveys but I never do them because they tell you the probability that you will qualify for the survey and mine is never that great, so I just skip them.

I think their just making money from the ads and then when companies do ads through them. If you notice all the polls are user based from people on the website. I kind of stopped going there since I all the sudden can't do any polls for some reason.

For this particular site, ad revenue seems more likely than the other options. That's not going to get anyone in the equation that much money, since I can't say that I've ever heard of Tellwut before now. That can't bode well for the success of that site when people don't know about it, so the ad revenue is going to be relatively meager.

I suspect that ad revenue is their major source of income.  The information they collect, at least in the surveys I have seen, has been very trivial stuff and often simply opinion based.  A few of them were very specific about brand name products and shows though and the survey questions kinda made me want to check them out so i wonder if posting polls to people about specific things is another source of revenue, a form of advertising.

Tellwut used to be good, but all of a sudden they no longer let you do very many polls per day. I figured it would take me almost a year to cash out the second time because it just came to a grinding halt and never improved. I was paid once, but it slowed down within a couple of weeks of that. I just dropped it when I realized I'd never get anywhere with that.

They generate money with the ads on each related surveys, and those surveys that they send to your email address. I never do any of these since they are such a waste of time after the first few tries with them.

They cut me down to only 5 surveys a day now and it takes forever to get enough points to cash out! Yes, they paid, but they are limited the numbers of surveys for US residents.
