Why is it so hard?
« on: May 19, 2014, 03:19:14 PM »
I still don't understand why its so hard to get to Pinecone Research survey, either its out of my area or they are currently picking a certain demographic that am not part of or something else altogether, is there something am not doing right? I understand its a very sophisticated Research site.

I have not heard of this survey site but it's possible that it is your location.  I am located in an area where we don't get a lot of traffic and I've noticed this on other sites, that they're a little more selective.  I may look into this and see if I have the same issue.

I actually am in Pinecone Research. From my experience it doesn't seem to be worth my time. Maybe it's because I'm new at this and don't know how to take advantage of this system, but the surveys they give are extremely long. 100's of questions in each takes me around an hour or more to fill out a survey. Based on the length of time each survey takes me, my time is only worth $0.10/hour. That's scarce, I'll keep trying but it doesn't seem worth it.

You are so lucky, i understand they don't pick/select people just like that, there is a procedure they use to get you in...i think its a link that one clicks on and i understand its very hard to come by...just the fact that you are in Pinecone itself is magic! :P.

I also don't know why most survey sites never offer us any surveys to take. Sure, they have age and demographic criteria, but sometimes I feel that it will take me a couple of years before I actually get any money from them!

Sometimes that's their goal Gelsemium, they put a high withdrawal minimum, like $25 so that if you quit when you have for example $15, they got those $15 of free labor, if they call you very often then you would stick around because the $10 missing are fast.

I used to be on the panel and I tried real hard to keep up, but the surveys were very long.  And they do pay $3.00 for the survey, while it seems like a lot, well, the surveys just seem too long.

Definitely not worth it than, at least based on what Rhodie and Jess are saying it's pretty crazy, do they think we will answera over 100 questions survey for $3? 10 cents per hour Rhodie?!

@ Jess, i 'd be interested to know which panel this is because the ones i had previously signed up to, were all the more depressing, high cashing out thresholds, extra long hours spent answering mind boggling questions that didn't make sense at all or waiting for a chance to picked out of the crowd{targeting a specific demographic}that took ages to come and finally going home penniless :(

I agree, there is a specific way that you get into the survey site, but I am not sure what that is.  I think if you are what they are looking for, there is a certain way they contact you to get you into the site.  My understanding is that when they are hiring, they place ad banners on websites, and that is how they can filter the types of people they want.

...that's next to looking for a needle in a haystack. I think with Pinecone Research, it all boils down to luck just like the lottery, you win some and you lose some  :)

it is hard because the rates are high as compared to other survey sites. Most of the questions they ask are just 4-5 and they are simple too,to top it all they pay you $3 for each survey,so there is bound to be loads of guys queuing up for it.
You have to find a banner that they post in random places on the web when they need new members or you have to be referred by an existing member when Pinecone alerts members that they need new people, for you to join their programme. Before you join check if there are high paying offers for your demographic location.

$3 for an online survey is pretty good, it's something that you can do while killing time at work and at your pace.
I just checked that they don't allow you to register on the website, you need a banner to click, does anyone know where I can find one? They should just direct you to an address so if we could know that URL...

Hit up someone on reddit with a request for this joining, they sure will help you out.You can't find anywhere on the net at some random place or something(I take back what i stated).Unless we personally get those invites,it is tough to get into their program.

I was on Pinecone years ago and loved them, but when I lost internet access for a couple of years I lost my account.  I have been trying so hard to get back on because it was so good when I was there.  The surveys were only taking me 10-15 minutes back then, sometimes even less and I thought it was totally worth it.  It sounds like they have really changed over the years since I was with them.  Maybe I will not bother trying to get back on again if the surveys are now so long that the pay is pennies on the hour.  That sounds absolutely shocking to me based on my past experience with them.
