It took me about a year of watching WAH boards to find a Pinecone research banner. Banners will be around when they are hiring.  Pinecne research is , on my opinion, the only legit cash paying survey site there is, one that wont lead to you having tons of spam mail from third party's !! The surveys are actually between 15 minutes to 30 minutes.  You are given 300 points each survey completed, 300 points can be cashed out for $3.00. If you are consistent in responding to survey notifications, you will at some point start getting free products to test and review by way of a survey regarding the item you  test.  The "surveys" that do tend to be long are not surveys per say, they are household questioners sent every so often to update what surveys you would be a good fit for. They are not paid surveys. For the household questionnaire you are entered intto a 500 dollqr sweepstakes drawing.

I don't like survey sites that are by invitation only, since you can't count on any sort of income. Also, if you don't stay on top of your emails, the offer is usually retracted within 24 hours. If you miss too many, you are likely to be removed from their offer list. With this company I jump on their emails as soon as I see them, but it's pretty rare. I have done three in five weeks. Seems like a pretty exclusive company.

I too have been unsuccessful in getting on PR. I've tried for over a year with no luck. Everyone talks about how great it is on every WAH forum I go to. Maybe they are over saturated due to all the great things people say about it.

Survey sites in general haven't worked out for me. Either I've been in the wrong region or I didn't fit the demographic. It's a shame because I always assumed they were one of the easier options in terms of earning online. Obviously not...

I am not very lucky with survey sites! I hate wasting time taking the surveys and at the end found out that I am not qualified. They said 30 minutes, but it was more like 50 minutes long and I just don't have the patience or focus to keep on doing.

They lie about the times! I picked one for 7 minutes, 10 minutes later I'm still only at 10% completion. I really hate doing surveys when you are duped, especially when you pick one with the money linked to the time spent. Seriously these people need some lessons in morality, but I guess few people would do a survey for 20p when it takes an hour.

Actually, I really like Pinecone.  It's an "invitation" type survey site, and you don't get many surveys, maybe 1 or 2 a month.  But, I've qualified for every survey they asked me to do.  Each survey pays $3, and it automatically goes to paypal - you don't have to accumulate a certain amount, you get paid for each survey directly.

The site is geared towards product testing - as far as I can tell, that's all they do.  That's why they are looking for a certain demographic.  Almost every survey I've taken is about a new product and they ask if I would be willing to test it, if chosen.  I usually get a product test 5 or 6 times a year, and the followup survey is also worth $3.

So, while you aren't going to get rich with Pinecone, they don't waste your time either.  You don't have to accumulate some amount before cashing out, and they pay with paypal, after every survey.  And occasionally you get a good product testing out it.

I honestly never gave Pinecone Research a second thought, due to the fact that getting an invite is the only way participate.  However, I am an avid survey taker.  For the most part, I have been very satisfied.  Out of the four sites I was using, only two revealed some difficulties, but at the end of the day, I still received all of my earnings.  Then, the other two are great, in my opinion.  Haven't experienced any problems.  Even more importantly, none of these sites require invitations.  Contrary to belief, there are still legit survey sites to utilize.  The sole problem is we let our own preferences get in the way of the real earning potential.  If anyone is interested, I would definitely recommend iPoll and InboxDollars.  Of course, plenty of diligence is required, but the earnings are worth it.

Update: I have definitely changed my opinion on this site in the last few months. For awhile there I was getting 3-4 survey offers a week. The last week or so has been pretty dead, unfortunately. I heard that summer time is a bad time to make money on surveys, as well as the winter holidays, and January. I am not as reliant on the work as I once was, so I will continue to check, and cash in quite regularly (hopefully), as I have been doing lately.

Pinecone Research is the only site I like doing now. They pay quickly to paypal if you want that option. And the surveys are monthly. I did have a couple slow months but I get a few or more a month. And once for a product to test but that only happened the one time.

Well, I got a  notice that they had openings a few days ago, and I tried to sign up, but was told that my demographics don't meet those they're looking for right now  :(. Boo hoo, I guess it's not meant to be for me and Pinecone Research.

I am not sure about this. IF you are overseas, they may not be likely to accept you. You might be riht though it might be your demographic that is the problem. I think they have enough of women of a certain age group. I think they probably are seeking men though so this might be somehting that they are currently recruiting, but I guess that doesnt help you! lol
