Time? That's up to you to make. Here's a tip from someone who writes books. He has written lots and lots of books. What he does is to have an exercise book and a pen with him wherever he goes. This was before the age of smartphones and tablets. He simply writes whenever he can. Sometimes he would write while waiting for his wife who is shopping. Sometimes he would write while waiting for dinner to be served. And he publishes many books every year. With smartphones and tablets, this should be even easier to do. Just do a bit here and a bit there. It will all add up.

When I first started out in article writing, I had a few bumps on the road.  It wasn't smooth sailing in the beginning.  I learned what keyword stuffing is, and what not to do when writing articles.  Of course, I also needed to do some basic research before venturing into it.  After that experience, I finally got the hang of it, but I honestly feel that writing articles also require you to think and write faster, especially when considering the deadline set by your employer.  It's not like I didn't like article writing, but it was more like it was stiff when complying with certain requirements.  Blog writing and forum posting, on the other hand, are diametrically opposite, as I can write anything that is relevant to the topic at hand, and both are less stiff compared to plain article writing.

I have experienced the same thing. Writing according to the buyer's specifications is not really my style. However, since they are paying, I will play along. That's the only way to get the money to do the things I like. Forum posting is always fun, even if it's unpaid forum posting. It's one way to interact with other people. It's also a way to throw out my ideas to find out how other people perceive them. Blog writing takes a bit more effort. The setback is not being to get feedback, like in forum posting.

What site do you write on that sells really quick?  I've written for a couple sites and it always seems like they take forever unless I'm requested.  But I get the feeling of always constantly writing and even when you finish a project and you still have an endless pile to get to.

I usually write on orders. There are many places to get writing orders. Sometimes, you may be able to join a team of writers. Then there will always be orders waiting for you. Try looking in Digital Point, Freelancer, and Upwork. That's where I got most of my writing orders.
