If you are looking for an online job that requires creative skills, then you should try signing up with 99designs. It's a marketplace for anything about graphic designs.

I have to check this out, as my niece is fantastic with graphic design! I will pass on this information for sure! My niece has a real knack for this kind of thing.

Definitely going to have to check this out! I love graphic design. It's so hard to get work on these sites though, when the more established artists are usually the preferred ones. :( But never hurts to try!

Has anyone made money from this site? I can see that this is another crowdsourcing site, normally there will be lots of freelancers bidding for the same gig. I think I can deal with that but will other designers see my samples that I submit? If so then we may not avoid other freelancers or designers to copy or get inspiration from our own

This is interesting, I will keep that site in mind and relay it to the people who may profit from this site. Thanks for sharing!

I'd be curious to know how much money people make on this site. I'm signed up to Zazzle, have some designs in place and have done a bit of marketing. But so far I haven't made any inroads.

No doubt it's the designs or the marketing or both, but it would be interesting to hear what strategies people have for these kinds of sites.

This is interesting. I hope it means that the market is opening up, because it seems the same sites have been around for a long time, and competition is a good thing. I have considered working with my photography to create some graphic designs, so it's definitely something I'll check into, thanks for sharing.

That is good to know. I know nothing about graphics but my son does. He makes enough money though, that I don't think he is really interested in doing work on the side. It might just be something for him to keep in mind, should he wish to pick up some extra money.

I don't think I would have found this on my own. I have been looking for freelance/design sites on different forums for a good bit now and this is the first I have heard of this. I have signed up and am clicking through a bit. It looks like a good bit of the money that can be made there is in contests. It's an interesting concept, but as a 'newbie' I am not sure it's for me. I work better when I can communicate with the client. A lot. But for others, I love the idea!

What's like recently? I tried in the very beginning (like 3 years ago) and maybe it was me or maybe it was because it was one of the first sites to do this but I felt something was wrong. I had the impression customers barely understood the questions and didn't even know what they wanted. If you compared the brief and the chosen option, it was almost the opposite. I did recently join designcrowd which has the same concept, except you can't see anyone else's designs and I got lucky. But still haven't won the contests enough to rely on it as regular income. I see it more as a creativity exercise I do once in a while.

Have you made money at 99designs?  I've only heard how hard it is to make a living off the site because of how competitive it is on top of the low price.  How much do you usually make on this site?
