Prolific Academy
« on: August 15, 2015, 05:18:20 PM »
Wasn't sure where to post this at all, but I wanted to suggest adding Prolific Academy to the survey section. You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and also You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login in the hopes anyone would like to use it.

It's a website in which researchers put out surveys and questionnaires related to their research to collect data (all confidential). The payment is pretty good and very fair. For a 5 minute survey you can get paid about 0.40 and 2 for a 15 minute one. I've used it for a while now and I really like it. Hopefully we can add it to the survey section!

The pay is decent compared to other survey sites, but it's not that good compared to actual jobs and whatnot. I'm not going to even consider giving this one a chance. Perhaps someone else will make some decent money from it by doing as many surveys as possible each day. I wonder how many surveys you'll get each week, and then how many of them you'll actually be accepted and paid for.

I use it and the studies do come up randomly, but as the site is quite new there are some bugs still. The site can be slow and sometimes at the end when you are supposed to click on a link it comes up an error.

I have found there are quite a few I have not been eligible for too, but it's still better than Toluna and Peanuts. The minimum cashout is  5.00, but you pay PayPal fees unless you cashout  20.00.

Do you mean Prolific Academic? I joined around a month ago and have already claimed around 40. I haven't had to wait any longer than a day for payment but do be aware that PA state payment can take up to 5 days.

It's definitely one of the better value survey sites out there. I have found it to be quite slow at times myself though, however, it is a new site and I'm sure they'll manage to rectify this.

I think the trick is to check the site regularly for studies. PA don't send email alerts so finding a new study to complete is up to you.

I haven't heard of the site before, but from the comments, seemed like some have made money! It is worth looking into. I will read to find out if they accept US users. Thank you for the link!

I had accumulated now seven pounds just by participating in surveys that are quite easy and quick to do. I do not get much opportunity but not bad. I am just waiting for my payment via paypal after five days since I just requested my payment few minutes ago

I joined back when this thread started (give or take a day or two) and just reached payout today. Put in the payment request this morning and it was in PayPal by the end of the working day. Not much opportunity for earnings, but I'm not in a primary demographic. Pleased with the money, though!

I have recently heard of this survey site, and it seems to be causing quite a buzz. I wasn't going to bother as I've sworn off survey sites. However, the few people who've spoken about it, seem to be very happy with it, and I'm liking what I'm hearing here! I do wonder if it's open to international workers, though. I'll have to check it out. Thanks for sharing :)

Thank you for letting us know about this new online opportunity. Very relevant. I just have a concern though, do they accept international users? I am actually somewhere from Asia, and the thing I have noticed about most survey sites is that they only give credits to US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Since I was also interested in knowing the answer to your question, I went on the site and found the FAQs document and Yay! It appears it's open to anyone. There don't seem to be any restrictions :)

The site has changed to a new server recently and so it's a little more reliable. Most of the studies have been fine and I only had one issue which was resolved really quickly.

I just wish there were more studies regularly, but it is hit and miss. You have to keep checking throughout the day.

Thanks very much for this. I've signed up through the referral. At the moment, unfortunately, it doesn't look too good for me as I'm not eligible for any of the surveys offered up at the moment.

It certainly looks like a better survey option though so I'll see how my luck plays out on this one.

Good day! I made an account in Prolific Academy about a month ago, and I haven't been getting any surveys. I'm from Asia, and this probably has something do with it. Has anyone else outside the UK/US gotten jobs from this website? Hoping I could get some feedback!

I'm glad you got your issue resolved, Alex :) Thanks for the feedback.

I also joined and it seems like a decent site. My only worry is, even though I saw quite a long list of surveys, I qualified for none :( However, i like their style, because you know before you even start on a survey whether or not you qualify. So that's a huge plus!
