What are the most requested Fiverr gigs?
« on: August 15, 2015, 05:43:17 PM »
I've used Fiverr a few times to post some gigs but none of them are ever successful. Is there a particular type of gig that is successful the majority of the time or close to always?

My fiverr gig that has been bought the most times is my forum posting gig, followed pretty closely by my gig to smooth out a website or piece of writing to sound like it was written by an native speaker/writer of American English. Usually that editing gig brings in buyers who later buy my writing gig. My writing gig is priced higher than a lot of them so it's usually passed by until a buyer gets cheaper poorly written content and then picks me to edit it. Later, they realize it's cheaper to have it written well the first time. My best pay for the amount of time invested is my gig to draw or write in the sand but it doesn't get bought as often.

I think different people have different experiences. I've heard a few people on here do well with forum posting gigs, but I don't know because I don't have such a gig. Maybe it's time I did away with mine that are just lying there dormant and never get a look in. I have 4 gigs on Fiverr altogether, but only 1 keeps getting enquiries, and that's my book review one. I can't even tell you the reasoning behind that.

I'll have to put a book review gig up to see how it goes. :-) Thanks for the tip!

I have been doing book reviews through two other sites but one of them doesn't offer many paid books anymore (only free book for review) and the other has a ton of competition and I'm not active enough on the forums to get many reviews.

For those of y'all who do have or plan to have book review type gigs, is there a limit to how long the books can be? Do you have a hard time plodding through really poorly written or boring books, and how honest are your reviews?

I wish I could put my life on slow motion long enough to focus on looking into some of these gigs and writing sites, because it would be nice to branch out a little.

I have a high reading speed and really enjoy reading books in a lot of genres. I also read fanfiction for fun so I'm used to wading through poorly written work.

For the two places I do reviews for regularly, I'm specifically supposed to give an honest and balanced review, including the things I like and the things I disliked. They're clear that they're paying for an honest review, not a positive review. The client, after seeing the review, can ask us to post it on amazon or B&N but we get paid whether they want to use our review or not.

For the fiverr gig, I'm offering the same thing (no one has bought it yet) - to write a balanced, honest, review of at least 200 words. They can choose whether and where I post the review.

I have had one forum-posting gig up on Fiverr for the longest time and I've never gotten a single inquiry. :( On a slightly positive note, I've just recently gotten a forum-posting gig, $50 for 100 posts, on UpWork, so I guess my quest for a job isn't so futile after all! :)

Depends on your niche, since some create websites and other technical stuff. Since most of us post in Postloop, I think we can take advantage of forum posting there. I did have a posting gig that sold fairly well, bit it's paused at the moment. I also used to drive traffiic to websites, it's ok and it got a couple of orders, more than 10 since that's what made me a Level 1 seller.

It's a pleasure, @Jinny! Do let us know how you get on. Things seems to have slowed right down for me on Fiverr, but I'll still keep it on :(

The paid book reviewing thing is very frustrating. I found 3 sites, but they aren't paying! Well, I already post free reviews on Amazon, so I'm not happy to do any more elsewhere LOL

At one time, I thought the gigs that were most common are those that sell followers to Facebook, and Twitter, plus those that need comments on their posts. I have used this service myself when advertisers like to see the big FAKE follower numbers on my blogs. I believe this have subsided a lot since no one really cares anymore.

I think the most popular and successful gigs on Fiverr are either SEO related (traffic, likes, follows, e.t.c.) or Logo designs. These are the most searched for gigs on that site. Article writing services are also very sought for, but there are so many people offering their services as writers, that the competition basically makes it impossible to get any buyers in for such a gig, in my opinion.

As I have observed, I think there's a good demand for transcribers on Fiverr. I have already noticed that most people (employers) there offer book review types of job, and data-entry work.

I had seen a couple of gigs that are related to managing a website. From concept, logo design, layout, driving traffic and making it secure. Obviously I do not have those skills.

It's an interesting space for trying to make money. I want to review my existing 4 gigs, which are mainly aimed at job hunting and CV support. I haven't had any input for a long while so I think they need a revamp.

At the same time, I don't really want to have any gigs that take a very long time to do - otherwise it becomes a false economy.

Thanks @Jinny, I like that you can write honest reviews and let them review it in advance and they have the opportunity to choose whether or not it will be posted. That seems reasonable. I hope your gig on fiverr picks up, but people there are probably more interested in paying for positive reviews, whether or not they're honest, unfortunately :(.
