I joined You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login and they recently posted a thread on how to earn $10 for your novel starter (no more than 50,000 words).  I'm too busy with my current projects to even look at my novel right now but thought some of you may be interested.

The specific thread isYou are not allowed to view links. Register or Login.

There IS an approval process (which I totally understand) which, if approved, you do your upload and share on social media.  After the confirmation they will send $10 to your PayPal account.  Content must be original and proofed and edited.

Like I said, I just came across it and can't take advantage of the offer but thought I'd share anyway.

I looked at their model and it seems to be an interesting concept, however as it's still so new I wonder how many people do go online and pay to read per chapter.

I think if you like interaction and feedback it's great, but I like to just write rather than people break things down when they haven't seen the complete plot.

Sounds very interesting! I am like you, too many projects to do online and offline to write or focus on 50,000 words right now. I will bookmark the forum thread and look at it again in the dead of winter. Thanks for the information.

While the site and concept sound interesting, I think that $10 for a novel is low paying even if someone wouldn't be good at writing.

A novel is not simply content that you jot down to make a buck, and 50,000 original words and plot for $10 is not really a good deal to me.

Wait, thousands of words for $10? Are you kidding me? That's a terrible going rate, even if they're just paying you to post that or whatever the deal is. The sad thing is that I know that some people would jump at that opportunity because $10 sounds good to them, but I've got better things to do with my time and effort, like actually making money from a published work instead of getting paid $10 for hours of work.

Well, it's not actually for the novel but for the novel starter.  Meaning a couple of chapters or the whole book or whatever you want.  Either way, I know writers who have written...for lack of a better word...crap and have gotten less. Hell, there are writers who write online the same crap everyone else does and get paid less.  LOLOLOL

For someone to test out the writers and maybe find out if they're writing crap or not, I think it's something they may want to check out.   ;D

Couldn't you just publish the darn thing and sell it for $10? I guess the allure would be you would get feedback and get money while you work to build your novel.

I have already joined this forum, and yes, they are offering the same perk to writers/novelists. I really think it's a great concept, and money is always a good motivation for writing. :)

Like all new ventures, they need people to sign up and this is to tempt them to join and to list their work. Once it's listed, you can still self-publish, but traditional publishers don't usually touch work that has been published online in any format. So by choosing this route, you prevent yourself from a contract with a publisher if it happens. You own the rights still, but publishers don't want work that has been available elsewhere.

Well, it is another writing opportunity that some folks may be interested in. Personally, I think that rate is way too low for me to even bother. I guess it won't hurt to try it out at least once. Perhaps, the feedback that one receives will help in improving their writing.

I am on this forum. I joined this forum via Postloop. I post on this forum whenever the forum is active on Postloop. When the forum is disbaled on Postloop I don't visit the forum. I have checked the thread in question. I do have a manuscript, however, I have not considered submitting for the fear of rejection. Not just this, there are other publishing opportunities on this forum as well.
