So I went and tried the sites, and so far Test Birds has been working for me! I've made 30 Euros so far with them, much more than the other testing sites that I use. Thanks for this thread!

Well done. I am also from South Africa and do testing on the side. May I suggest Utest as I have received more than $50 from them and I have almost daily tests that I partake in. Another option is to apply at Lionbridge, I received $264 for just one test I did there, took me 16 hours, but still, that is good money.

Wow that is good money! I didn't know Lionbridge had usertest to do. Or maybe that $264.00 was for something else? Either way that is good. I hear Utest is good as well. A couple times I got emails for test though and when I went to sign in it was no available anymore.

I've tried Utest and to be honest I never made to do any tests with them, the site is hard to understand.

I am checking Lionbridge site right now, how do I apply to be a tester?

@oportosanto I did install the new recorder, or at least it appeared to install. I'm running Vista still, with no funds available to upgrade any time soon. I also downloaded their Android app, but have yet to see one test for that. I've done a few on the mobile for UserTesting, but am unable to do website tests (other than the ones I can do on the mobile), until I upgrade my OS or computer altogether. It's disheartening to not be able to make money, especially when I need that money to upgrade my technology so I can make money.

I know what you mean as there one site that requires 4GB RAM or superior and I cannot work for them because my computer only has 2GB RAM. We need to work with what we have...

The only user testing site I'm on is UsabilityHub and I love it for its simplicity. The money's slow to build up, though. For that reason, I've been toying with the idea of trying out other more involved user testing sites. The only reason I've been a little hesitant is because most of them seem to want you to record your voice and I'm not really sure about that. But hearing about someone making $264 on a single test on Lionbridge is making me think twice LOL But isn't that the site that requires a slew of qualifications to qualify?

That's the thing, we can enter usabilityhub with no requirements and make $20 per month or less or we can aim higher. To be honest I am not sure if I can make it.

I know how you feel about the voice thing but more money so why not? Don't be afraid or nervous. I have had many recorded test done with Usertesting with positive feedback from the client about a good job done, etc. I am more nervous with YouEyE since it also recorded my face too. Which is silly since I have a Youtube channel but I guess some things make me more nervous.

No need to be nervous really, it's just a job and we are paid well, so we need to face it like that. Those are serious companies, so nothing to worry about.
