Mturk Secrets
« on: January 06, 2016, 09:49:09 AM »
What are your secrets to success on Mturk? I have been working on this site since September and have learned to seek out tasks that pay 20 cents per hit or more. The most I have made in a single day was $9 and did not spend more than 2 hours working. I have learned to stay away from the penny tasks because they take force to complete and you do not earn more than a few pennies in a couple hours. I saw a tutorial online in which a guy made like 4k in 6 months, but have not figured out how he managed to do that.

Sadly, I wasn't accepted to make money through MTurk due to my geographical location. As far as I know, they only let US-based citizens work in them.

$9 in one day is not bad when comparing to Postloop for example. I was accepted in mturk but I found it too confusing and gave up. I didn't saw any tasks to perform and I lost interest.

I gave up on this type of site since the competition is too stiff. There are so many people who will work for less, thus the value of time and money just doesn't equate out to where I can accept.

My goal for this new year is to add more eggs to my basket, so I will keep looking. Sorry I can't be of help with your question, but I sincerely wish you great luck.

What do you mean, the competition is too stiff? I wouldn't mind working for them considering I could get more than I am earning in PL. The issue is I get in the site and I feel lost there.

I know what you mean. I can't seem to earn much on PL either. It just takes so darn long. And I don't know what in the heck is going on  on the mturk site! I am lost there as well. I thought about reading some articles about it, or trying to find some YouTube tutorials, if I find out anything I'll reply back. Good luck!

I have learned that Mturk is not a site you can devote a ton of time to and expect to earn a lot of money. Most days I manage to make at least 2 to 3 dollars just for spending a couple of hours on there sporadically through the day. There are some hits that pay well for only a couple minutes of work, but they are not steady to say the least. I like to bounce are round quite a few sites throughout the day and build my earnings on each one.

Wow, nine dollars is actually a lot for just two hours of work. I normally spend a lot of hours transcribing just to earn that money and even then, you are not sure if your work will be accepted.:/ I better try this Mturk out because it seems like a lucrative way of earning money more than what I'm doing.

A lot of hours to make $9 transcribing Brianna? That doesn't seem very appealing, even more when it's pending approval. Postloop is far better paid than that.

I looked at Mturk again just the other day. It seems like it would be  alot of trouble for the few dollars you make on there. I once made some money on there...but it took awhile to get paid. I don't know, I might try it again if I have nothing better to do, sometime. I know it works for some people.

Wow $9 is great on mturk. I'm lucky to make a dollar there in one day. That's why I don't use it much. Thanks for the advice :)

I still haven't figured it out either. I want to, so bad. I have met a lot of people who make bank on there. Mostly on reddit, though. I just don't have the patience to sift through all the junk. And at the moment my stats are still newbie, so I suppose that explains why I get mostly junk posts.

I used to earn well on Mturk. I had qualifications to task that lead me to earning about $500 a month. Eventually that requester moved along. The secret is to make sure you are qualified for the best tasks at all times. Even if one requester seems wonderful, remember, they won't use Mturk forever. You have to get your self qualified for at least 3 well paying jobs/tasks.

I agree with @MsGreen, you have to get yourself qualified for those well paying tasks. I would also suggest taking some of those surveys over there for a little extra money too. Many of the surveys are research study type surveys from Universities and they are pretty quick and interesting. I learned about getting qualified and the surveys from the online group Turker Nation, you should really check them out. They have so many great tips to share with people.

Thank you for the pointer to Turkernation, and I will definitely check it out to learn how to get this site to work for me. At the moment, I don't have many sites to work on.
