Sounds nice! You must have pretty good people skills and must be comfortable in speaking with other people you have not met before on one on one conversations though. Something I might need a little work on haha! Is there another site for other languages such as french or Portuguese? I could look into this.

I've seen a few places offering this type of opportunity recently. I think I actually created a thread about one here. I don't typically qualify for this type of position, since I have very old technology, but it's definitely something I would consider in the future, if I'm every able to update the computer. Thankfully, I have a decent speed connection, so that wouldn't be a barrier. If anyone tries the site and it works out, I'd love to hear more about how it works.

So many good and interesting programs out there but we can't join because of their terms and conditions. I will definitely check this out. But making the video is something I really have to work on. I'm not in US.

I have not heard of this before, but I recently opened the world of online tutoring and teaching English which is pretty cool. I haven't applied anywhere yet since I don't really have a whole ton of extra time with all of my other at home projects, but I have set aside time in my schedule next week to look into it a little further. I think it would be a great way to earn some extra money. I have heard that it's hard to build a clientele though, which can really happen anywhere so you just have to decide if it's worth taking the gamble or not.

I have not heard about NiceTalk. Earning $9 per hour just by talking on phone seems a good job, if it is available for me. I hear that Chinese are crazy about learning English and teaching English can be a lucrative job option. However, I am confused what type of talking do we do on phone, who pays the phone bill etc. I need to check the site.

My friend once tried to participate in the NiceTalk app, however, he said that the app was too buggy. He tried sending interview videos multiple time but with no avail. At the same time, he says that despite having to resend a video, his interview was being reviewed. As such, he never actually got to try out. The concept though seems nice and the price is really good.

There are several sites like this, I've heard mixed reviews. Some get no students, some don't get paid by site, others find it really difficult to teach someone who may have no English. Others have success. You need a good internet connection and you need to be available when students want to study. If the time difference is great between you and say China then this may not be feasible .

Oh dear, that doesn't bode well :( I think I can see why it would be difficult to teach someone with zero English skills, especially if you don't speak their native language. I don't even know how that would work. I think I'd only go with well known, reputable ones that are known to pay. My main problem as it stands is my internet speed, and I know they are precious about that, I guess for obvious reasons.
