get paid to test games
« on: February 05, 2016, 02:59:34 AM »
I heard that there is a site that allows you to test games and give your feedback for payment. I have no idea where to find this site as my son is now home and has nothing to do so this would be a good idea for him to earn a little cash to keep him busy. Has anyone heard of this and do you know what it is called?

I am aware that such sites pay you to test games, but I think it also demands your physical presence as well and you need to apply personally to some office. I heard that the pay is good, you test the game and report the bugs that you see. Try to google it, I'm sure you will find the info that you need.

How old is your song? if you don't mind me asking. I have had such a hard time finding online sites that were not scams for this. I am a gamer so would love to! There use to be a job posting for Oakheart Entertainment and I think they were USA though, no idea if they still need people. Sometimes trying out reddit is good to find information like that. Beermoneyglobal or beermoneyreddit might be good. Aside form that I am not sure.

I only know of a site called "Tremor Games" which lets you play games and achieve certain levels then they pay you gift cards. I'm afraid I don't know of any gaming companies that will hire you and give you the game and have your feedback then pay you. But as some said, there certainly are companies like that. Maybe your son just needs to apply on some local offices and find out which companies are using gamers to review their games.

I am not sure about what kind of site you're referring to, but the closest one I could think of Swagbucks. It would pay you to play online games, and do other small tasks as well.

There is this apps available on play store which you can download and earn some extra cash and its called whaff. All you ever do is just download some apps and play it for a while in which you can cash out your earnings through paypal, skrill, amazon, etc.

Below are the links to the page that i have just made and you can see that the top earners made quite a lot of cash.
The more you invite people to join the better the rewards. Invite all your friends to install whaff on your smartphone and remeber to enter the code "BD02771" for extra rewards. Try the apps and its pretty much awesome as i have cash out many times now

This is something my teenager could do to make some money, but I don't know how much it would require to spend on it as I prefer for him to study. We all know how one thing leads to another when we are online, and then hours go right by us .

I wish your son good luck!

This topic has been debated in another threads if I am not mistaken, but up to this day I have been unable to find an online opportunity to test games. I think this would be a dream job because being paid to play has to be great.

The only sites I have seen where you can play games for money, require a "buy in" and you have to pay first. It's more of a gamble. I'm sure there are game testing sites I am unaware of though.

I would be wary of sites that ask for game testers, because there are many websites that say this and then never actually pay for the service. Also, it isn't as easy as "testing games", the testers usually have to provide detailed feedback about each one, and give ideas about how they could be improved. So your son would need to commit to the work side of it as well as simply playing the games themselves.

I've just heard about a site called PlayTestCloud recently. It's a site where you record yourself- your screen- playing mobile games while voicing out your opinion. Basically it's like UserTesting or TryMyUI but with video games. You'll get to review mobile games on both Android and iOS. You'll earn $7-$9 per game review. I'm not sure about how much work you can get per month though since I'm yet to try it.

I have not heard of these types of sites to make money from, but it sounds like it would be fun. I wonder if you would have to have a lot of technical experience in order to review them. There are all kinds of apps that let you earn money or gift cards that would keep your son busy and still earn some money. If you just search the app store, they will come up and you can choose which ones you want to try. Good luck to you and your son.

Thank you for sharing this one. Although I found one site that states the following requirements:

Native English speaker from US, UK, AU, NZ or Canada (we will have little to none tests for people from other countries, sorry)
Have an iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6 Plus AND/OR iPad 3, 4, Air, mini (with retina display) running iOS 7 or iOS 8
Headphones or headset

So it seems like it's only for US and those other countries. Fellow Asian people, weep with me.:(

Plus, it requires users to have an IOS device. What about android, don't they have games to test for them?

I pass the last requirement though, if that's any consolation, haha!

I have never tried earning by testing games. However, many people say it is a good earning opportunities. I avoid game testing for couple of reasons, for example: the game is terribly big in size, you need to reach certain level to get paid etc.

They do support Android. I'm not quite sure about the availability for other countries but their signup page has options for other countries.

That Reddit thread that you linked are over a year ago, so chances are they've probably updated their site to support android and also to be available for other countries.

Here's the signup page:
