I know some people use Pinterest as a way to advertise their blog in particular. Is this something you do? I would think it could work out quite well if you have a blog with a niche market, particularly if it was on the subject of making things or fashion of some sort as it could be easy to find things to pin. Similarly anything with a tutorial style set of images could work that way. Has anyone got any experience of using Pinterest to market their blog?

Yes, I use Pinterest to advertise my blog. My blog is centered around mainly gardening and a little bit around cooking(I'm still playing around with this idea). I post a few tutorial style things, I post videos or documentaries that I love too. I also love posting pictures of my garden or other gardens in my community.

I use Pineterest to promote my post on the photos of nature that I took. I got some re-pinned, but as far as traffic goes, I don't see anything significantly different. Maybe one click now and then, and it is never constant.

Well, my blog is on the beauty niche so posting on Pinterest is definitely helpful for it. Pinterest is mostly for DIYs, fashion, beauty, crafts and tutorials. So if you're in those niches, you really should try out posting or making boards on Pinterest. It has served me well, even though not all of my traffic is derived from there. But I cannot discount the fact that Pinterest has been useful for me.

I cannot say the same for other niches though. But it doesn't really hurt to try. After all, traffic is traffic and any way you can get it will be beneficial for your site.

I don't have a blog - but a few of my friends do and they do it -- for things like recipes, crafts and so forth. Also, a lot of the time when I'm looking for new recipe ideas and things like that, the results on Pinterest draw me into other people's blogs. So I definitely think it works from a marketing viewpoint!

I really didn't know that you could use Pinterest for this purpose. It is just one of the things that most people use, and it could be used for a greater purpose. I might try something like that if I decided to rejuvenate my blog. It is one of the things that I enjoy, and I think many other people do as well. Pinterest is a great and one of a kind site.

I've tried using Pinterest of advertise but I don't feel like I'm getting any traffic.  I think that you need to have a significant amount of followers and a tight niche for it to really be effective.  I've connected my Pinterest to my Tumblr and that seems to improve the effectiveness.  I also think that unless your business is selling fashion, art, or entertainment it's really hard to convert that traffic into sells.  Most of my friends who use Pinterest almost exclusively to advertise do makeup or fashion tutorials to help sell their stuff.  It's not really a great place to try to get buyers to buy for the sake of buying.

I do not have a blog, but many of the blogs I have found were on Pintrest. I get most of my work at home ideas there as well as cratfts and DIY ideas. I love Pintrest and have tried to promote my direct sales business on there. I do not think it is really helping but I will still do it since it is free and you never know it may work one day.

I LOVE Pinterest, and have toyed with the idea of promoting my articles on there, as I've heard some people have had a lot of success with it. I decided I'd build up my portfolio first before starting to post stuff on there, because I'm pretty new to blogging. But I'll have to work out how to do that though, because I've only ever been on there to look at all the pretty and creative stuff on the site. My stash of articles is slowly building, so any time now I'll be doing just that. I've got high hopes for it :)

I have used pinterest before to get traffic to my site. I can't say that I got a lot of traffic that way. I have seen some people repinning my post so that was pretty cool. I get more traffic from facebook, to be honest.

I love Pint rest as a way to generate new ideas and save information that may be useful in the future.  I have never thought of promoting my writing on their but I am going to look into it. I am rather new to Pint rest and do not use it all that often, but I could see the potential it has for advertising.

I share some of my blog posts to Pinterest and the site does generate a little traffic, but not a great deal. However I'm sure that it would work well for some niches. The site that has been the biggest help in bringing traffic to my blog is Reddit. If you're going to share there, it's really important to find the right sub-Reddit though.

I do not have any blog posts to advertise at Pinterest but I always love checking and browsing this site. I am learning many ideas and creative stuffs that I make use as my my guide when I want to do something. Like in making some easy to do and inexpensive home decors and accessories and cooking recipes and other things. This is really such a nice site for learning something new.

I love Pinterest mostly for the beautiful images relative to recipes. I believe it can be a great platform for traffic but like anything else you have to be aggressive pinning consistently and adding interesting content  targeted towards those you want to attract. I am still learning how to make maximum use of it so that one day when I have my blog I can derive the most benefits from it.

It sounds like my thoughts about it being better if you've got a specific niche that works well with images of some sort being the main focus. Advertising photographs for sale or tutorials for making things seems like the sorts of things that would get the most traffic there. I think if you have something that is focused on those topics then Pinterest would work well but maybe not so well for other niches.
