Do Business Cards Still Work?
« on: March 14, 2016, 08:29:17 PM »
I recently ordered a pack of business cards for my business. I haven't distributed out many, but I do like to pin them on bulletin boards and send them out with samples to potential customers.
Personally, I think business cards still work and are a great way to spread the word about your business whether it is online or brick and mortar.
What is your opinion? Do you think business cards are still popular and useful?

I have online business as well as brick and mortar business. However,  I have not printed business cards yet. Business card is very effective mechanism to promote your online business as well as brick and mortar business on offline channels.

Yes, they are still useful as well as putting them on boards, people can pass them onto each other. Also in areas that are rural people prefer cards, or older folks that don't have smartphones. Some people will prefer an electronic business card, but having an actual card can be useful when you are in a hurry or if the person you want to see is unavailable.

I think they are an important tool in any business' arsenal. Especially if you deal with customers and clients face to face. Business cards are also a great for spreading word about your business. Also if your business cards are well designed and attractive customers will remember your business.

I believe they do. I made sure to include not only my phone number, but also my web address, email, and on the back my Facebook page address. I personally keep business cards I receive and put them in a special card holder. If a need arises, I look through my business cards to see if I have one that will address the issue at hand. If I do I will contact that business first about pricing and whatnot before starting to search the internet.

Yes, they are. It doesn't matter if you've got an online or offline business, you still meet people when going about your daily activities. It's always a good idea to have a couple of business cards on you, and hand them out to folks that you could possibly have as clients or work together in future.

I think they are! Just recently I was asked for one at a high profile event, and I could have kicked myself for not having one on me at the time! The gentleman went so far as to tell me if I wanted to be taken seriously, I needed to ensure I had a handful on me all the time, and in as much as I hated him for it, I knew he had a valid point :( Businesses here will still pay good money to have some made.

I don't have any business cards to pass out, and I have been asked for some from real life people when they knew that I have blogs. So I think they are still important to have some on hands. You never know when someone might ask for one!

I still believe  business cards are useful. I try to never run out of mine and I am always taking business cards from people. It's the first impression of your brand and even though we are in a digital age I think it is the one thing that cannot be replaced that easily. It's the personal touch that the digital world does not provide.

I think they definitely still work! My husband has them, and I think they show people a level of old-school professionalism you know? I just think it's a nice touch these days - sure, maybe not everyone does it, but that's what sets you apart! :)

I think they're good as a reminder, if nothing else. I do send a couple with each order I ship. I also keep some in my purse, as well as in the door pocket of my vehicle, because I'll often place them in various locations I visit. I left some on the table at the post office recently, and dropped several on the table at the bank I visited yesterday. Even if they bank staff dumps them in the trash, there's a chance someone saw them first, and I was able to have 500 printed up a while back at a very reasonable cost.

They definitely work but it depends on your business in my opinion. If your business has a physical presence then I think business cards are a more effective tool for promotion than for online work as many people you meet offline aren't going to be interested in something offline. It'd be like promoting plumbing services to someone looking for a burger.

I do think they're still important or at least, convenient. I have one with my email and website information. In groups for people to get together for non-work reasons (whether munch, book club, etc) being able to share your small side gig/business information can lead to sales or at least interest. Sometimes people just snap a picture of it rather than taking the card itself but I always get increased website traffic the next day. Most of it is probably just curiosity (because I hang out with some groups where using your real name and admitting what you do is more unusual than being private and closeted) but it has also gotten me a few freelance gigs with people who have been awesome to work with.

I have a business cards for my own home internet business, it acts as a information card about my purchase and a thanks for your purchase card as well that I stick in all my packages I send out.  I also hand them out to stores that are looking for picker or product I may offer.  I think they work great cause people can stick them in their purse or wallet and have the information easiely avaliable.

It is better to have something handy like a business card with you. It is practical and it makes sense. You do not want to write down your contact details on a tissue paper or shout it out to someone who is in a hurry to leave. I guess doing business has not changed that much
