Has anyone written with WordCandy?
« on: March 19, 2016, 06:50:09 PM »
Has anyone written for WordCandy? Can you tell me a bit about your experience with them?

Here is the site: You are not allowed to view links. Register or Login

They appear to be UK based and are looking for bloggers to write long (1500 word) posts about wordpress. Looks like the starting pay would be around $90 for a 1500 word post. 6 cents per word, 1500 words. I'm average-level experienced with self-hosted press so that would probably take me 2-3 hours to research and write. That wouldn't be too bad. It's ghostwriting.

I like that the application let you link to an article you have already written and your own blog so I did fill out the application but I'd love to hear feedback from others who have worked with them.

I have never heard of Wordcandy, but it sounds interesting, and the pay is decent. It sounds like their number one requirement is to have a Wordpress blog. My blog is not active at the current time, but I have always had it on Blogger. It doesn't hurt to apply. Thanks for sharing the site!

Thanks for sharing @Jinny :) I've never heard of Wordcandy either, but it sure sounds like a much, much better prospect than a lot of so-called writing sites out there. Since I'm chugging along nicely over at BlogJob, I don't think I can fit in any other writing site, as it's very involved. Sure, the money's good, but I'm not sure i want to do 1 500 word articles LOL I just don't have that sort of time. But i guess it's good to have something to check out in case my current prospects fold :)

That's pretty decent pay. However, I'm guessing that you'll only be able to write a limited amount of articles for them if you're approved. As I do have a Wordpress blog and I know a bit about the platform, I'll pop in an check out their application requirements.

I don't mind the 1500 word length. I wouldn't want to have to do more than one of them a day but I could do one that length plus other shorter written work in a day. No problem. I would be able to focus research better for something like that rather than doing a bunch of shorter articles in a day. I haven't heard back yet but that may just be that it takes a while or maybe I don't have the amount of wordpress experience they wanted.

I've never heard of them but if they pay that much for 1500 words I'd definitely be interested in checking them out. I'll happily sit and write a few of them a day if the topics are ones that I'm familiar with and able to write well on. I'll take a look at the application process. Thanks for letting us know about them.

This sounds like a good opportunity for those with an active blog and Wordpress experience. It's nice to know that there are some higher paying opportunities out there, although I don't meet the qualifications, at least at this time. I'm sure this will be a popular thread, and I hope this works out for those who qualify  :).

I have never heard of WordCandy, but I am definitely going to check it out. I normally write 4 or 5 400-500 articles a day so getting paid $90 for 1550 words would be awesome for me!

I haven't tried and their site is blocked by the firewall for the network I'm using. I'll have to check into it when I get home.
