myLot new pay structure
« on: March 19, 2016, 07:17:15 PM »
MyLot is another paid to post forum where you earn a few cents by posting on it, and having people respond to your posts. It is not a big moneymaker by any stretch of the imagination, but it is a very interactive discussion board, and you can write about what you wish. Anyway, for April and May they are changing their cashout so you can cash out for any amount more than 1.00. I think that is a pretty good idea, because some get tired of trying to make cashout, which formerly was 10 dollars. It is going to keep their payroll department very busy no doubt.

Well that is very kind of them to do for us. I know many people who walked away from MyLot because of how long it was taking them tor reach $10.

I'm one of the people who just had to walk away from MyLot because it wasn't worth my time. There were times when I'd slog away for hours and I'd walk away not even a penny richer! I'm not sure what that was about, and I wasn't for sticking around to find out. It's nice that they've dropped the cash out threshold considerably, but I don't think that helps me unless my time and effort is adequately rewarded, even if it's just a few pennies for a few hours. I refuse to toil away for nothing, for any site :)

That is nice that you can cash out at $1.00. New users might want to check for legitimately and see if they want to hang around. I would if I am a member there for sure. Waiting to reach threshold is tiring and discouraging.

I just write on it when I have a few minutes to spare. I joined that site, way back when, and then walked away, but I like it again now. It is a fun place to go when you have a few minutes to kill, and your brain is tired from working on more lucrative tasks. Don't expect to make any real money on there though.

It's great tot hear that myLot changed their pay structure. I was thinking about giving them a try sometime, maybe it's a good time to setup an account with them. Yes, I've heard that it's not a big money making opportunity, but it's a fun way to earn a few pennies here and there.

I remember it took me 3 months to reach $10 over there! I ain't going back if they pay as measly as before!  ;D How is the updating process of your balance nowadays? Do you have to wait until tomorrow before they update it or it gets updated a few minutes after you post?

Aw, I've never heard of this site before. I tried checking it out though and I quite like the format of the site. I think I'mg going to register for the site. And I'm glad that the payout threshold was changed to just a dollar. Not a lot of sites offer such an option.

I've seen some of the threads in the site and also searched some topics that I might be interested in. There seems to be some activity although not a lot of it. But I do think the people there are quite interactive.

Are there any requirements just like on PL? Do you have to apply first before getting in? And are one-liners not good as well? Because I've seen quite a few one-liners in the site.

I haven't heard of that site in years.  I tried MyLot in 2007! After HOURS of writing, I was only at maybe $2 I think, and we are talking a few weeks of work here for me, though I admit I was a newbie and thing weren't just flowing out of me so well.  Anyway, I gave up because at the time, I was actually earning more money with those quarter cent paid emails that used to be fairly popular.

Anybody have some good info on how much you currently earn per post?  Do you earn from EVERY post? What is your estimate of how many hours of writing it takes to earn $1?

I used MyLot back in around 2008, when the payment was relative good and they had a decent referral system. I had a number of active referrals under me, and I was able to make a fair amount each month from their activity alone, with me just posting a little each day. However when it changed I found that it wasn't worth my time anymore - and I certainly won't be posting at a place where you're not even sure whether your contributions will be worth anything or not! That doesn't seem like something that I would be all that interested in, to be honest with you.

I am on mylot. I hear $1 pay is just for the month of March and April as a promotion period.I don't  know if this will continue on May, June and rest of the months. Many people are avoiding Mylot because it is a slow earner with high payout threshold.

When I hear all these things people are saying about MyLot, I have to wonder why it has so many diehard fans! In my experience, it's just not worth it. But when I hear people saying they love working there, yet they don't make much and actually have to sweat and toil on there for hours on end, just to accrue $10, I'm really scratching my head as to what the big thing is about it is. Is it the whole nostalgia thing, is it the people, what exactly is it??

There is no minimum length for posts, and you don't need to apply first. You can just sign up and start writing. As their pay structure is based on interaction rather than writing, you don't even need to write your own posts to start earning money. Participating in discussions on other people's posts will contribute to your income there.

I can't speak for others, but I go to myLot when I've got a bit of spare time because I enjoy the interaction and hope to find inspiration for my more serious writing there. I have no expectation of earning big money at that site.

@Gina145

Thank you for the tips! That's quite easy to do actually as compared to PL. In PL, I have to make sure my posts are two paragraphs or even at least one paragraph long, lol. Anyway, I still haven't signed up since I do have lots of work to do. But maybe later this day I would sign up and let you guys know. I also doubt that I can make a lot of money there. Because seriously, there's no one site that is easy enough to make money on these days. But I'm just hoping that it is a fun and easy way to at least make some money and cash out at the end of the year.

When I was posting there there are some members whose posts were around 10,000+ to 20,000+ already. I guess they really enjoy the interactions there, and I noticed that the people who have thousands of posts are middle aged to senior citizens already.
