Working on Sites That Pay For Solving Captcha
« on: March 29, 2016, 04:12:58 AM »
Hi everyone!  :)

I have just recently tried working on a site that pays people for solving captcha. Most of the sites pay around $0.45 to $1 for 1000 captchas solved. It's a pretty low pay but anyone could try them for extra cash. The important thing is that you are a fast typer and solver. I haven't been successful though because it takes time for me to solve some of the captchas which usually have a limited number of seconds for one capthca to be solved. If you fail to enter the correct captcha several times, you will be eliminated and banned from their system. There are a lot of sites offering this kind of work but I have only worked with ProTypers.

have any of you tried this online gig?

Ouch, never tried it and never will, I mean, 1000 captchas 45 cents? That sounds insane and a total waste of my time, I would go crazy!!

I also haven't tried that kind of job yet fully, but I signed up and did a few captcha's just to see what it was like. It was tedious and I quit after less than an hour. There is no way I would waste my time with that kind of work.

I've heard this type of work mentioned before. I don't really understand the purpose of it, since I don't know who wants them solved. Is it to determine which ones are easiest to solve? I know my strengths and weaknesses pretty well, and I know I am lousy at solving many of the Captchas that I encounter. I have a really difficult time with the ones with squiggly letters, since it's often difficult to make out where the letters end/begin. I'm seeing more these days asking to click to select all of something in a specific category, such as rivers, mountains, etc. It's definitely not something I could make money at, let alone handle the frustration of, but I guess it's good it's available for those who enjoy solving them.

That is nice of you to share, but I have to admit I am terrible with solving captcha. My eyes will be crossed, lol. Also, @DianeLane is right! Who wanted these captcha to be solved? I just don't see the point. If you don't mind explaining it, I would love to know.

I am glad though that it works out for you!

I read a review on this last year and also signed up for one company, but it seemed dodgy. On further investigation some said it was for spammers and scammers to bypass the captcha.

I decided it wasn't worth it because your IP is registered and can be banned if it is used for spam, trolling etc.

This reasoning makes sense and I wouldn't want to risk getting banned either. I'm pretty good with solving captchas but it doesn't interest me in earning money this way.

I tried one site recently but I was not that accurate and fast enough to type and I gave up. A few days ago someone mentioned that the site is a scam well I am glad I stopped. Moreso, you are not sure how this site will use the captcha you typed.

I've never heard of this site. I'll have to check it out. It sounds like something I can easily do while watching TV or Netflix. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have to wait for approval after registering? How do you get paid? Paypal or via check? Thanks for any info.

I have come across a few of these sites but I am glad I did not bother to sign up. I don't do well with Captcha even when I am not under pressure. Having to work with a time frame and all that and then for pennies won't suit me.

I strongly advise against people who want to pay you to solve Captchas. The only reason someone would need you to do that would be for nefarious purpouses. Would you want to be the guy who helped the scammer rip you off? Well, if you solve their captchas you are a cog in their scam.

That can be a valid reason, at the same time the extremely low pay doesn't make any sense, so I am guessing not many people would be interested in doing this.

Besides the low pay and my often inability to solve the captchas themselves, after reading the posts of @Alex and @MsGreen, I definitely wouldn't be interested in doing this work. I have some pretty set standards for myself, and I wouldn't want to contribute to anything underhanded or that could result in people or companies being scammed. I certainly don't need to put myself in the position of being banned by a site or company, since my purpose is to make money.

sadly I did try this before and ended up so frustrated I quit. I am pretty sure there is a timer and most of the capthcas were very hard to read. This is something I won't be doing ever again. I think I would rather roam my town and pickup bottles and cans for extra cash then do that again.

No, and I doubt it would be the site for me, as I frequently get frustrated trying to solve captcha's. Some of them are ridiculously hard. and seem more like a deterrent to joining the site than a way to make sure you are not a "robot." Is it really that much of a problem? Anyway, thanks for mentioning it, but I wouldn't be doing it.
