Right now, I use blogger, though I do not currently use it to make money. I have always found blogger easy to use and that's mainly why I stick with it.

I'd like to eventually get Adsense set up right so that I can make a little income from blogging, but I actually blog so infrequently that the last time I tried to set it up they told me I did not have enough posts.

Does anyone know how many posts you need to have, or how often you should post, in order for Adsense to work?

You need to have had your site up for at least 2-3 months and have content posted regularly. I had my Adsense through HubPages and I use it for other blogger accounts, but you still have to wait for each site to look as if it is genuine

To be honest I have never made a penny from Adsense on my own accounts as you are limited as to what you can block and choose and where.

I'm surprised to see it took you that long. I also had an AdSense account before I started using Blogger and, with posting every day, I got AdSense on both my blogs within about a week.

@Gina145, it depends when you got Adsense on your blogs. A year ago they would do it automatically if you had an Adsense account even if the blog was new, however, recently they have cracked down and the blog has to be up for at least a month, or they say try again in a couple of weeks. Those who know, also know you shouldn't try too often as then it gets flagged.

I say 2-3 months for someone without an Adsense account, because if you start saying a week or a month, then it's misleading given that the rules have changed in the last 12 months.

I started moving my blog from BlogJob to Blogger on 14 June ( less than two months ago) and was able to add AdSense on 20 June. At that time I'd moved 12 of the 40 posts I'd written.

I understand that  it would take longer if one doesn't already have an AdSense account and I gather that some people really struggle to get approved. I was lucky enough to get my account through WebAnswers in 2012, but that's a shortcut that is no longer available.

So you were already using Adsense on your blogjob account and just moved 'hosts' in effect? In that case google recognizes when a post moves host for some reason, it's when it's new material that hasn't been indexed it takes a while as the SEO hasn't been generated yet.

I didn't know that. However I also started a photo blog pretty much from scratch (though I have a failed blog by the same name at BlogJob with different content) and I got AdSense on that one within about a week too.
