Fun... But Not Really a Big Payer
« on: May 22, 2014, 01:58:46 PM »
My hubby's been doing Instant Cash Sweepstakes for a few years now.  Are there any tips about making it more profitable?   Oh, he cashes out once in a while at $5 but... well, let's just say it's a good thing he's doing it for fun and not serious income.   :D

That said, it *is* fun.  And I know he could earn more by writing his own surveys which he doesn't do... he's won the $50 daily prize a few times, too.

I'd love to have some tips to pass along to him about how to build points up faster... anyone have advice?

I have done instant win sweepstakes, but haven't had any luck. Do you have any website suggestions to find instant wins? That is where I struggle the most.

I believe that some people suggest trying to get 50k coins, then buying a bunch of tickets when the meter for the $50 prize is cold. In my experience, this still doesn't give you THAT great of a chance to win the $50. So what I do instead, is save up till 10k coins, then instead of buying tickets, I just use the coins for the $2 prize. Every single time I've done this, I won. It takes a while to get 10k coins though, but once you start getting higher TS levels, you'll get much more tickets and coins from each survey. Plus, you get more surveys! Hope this helps! :)

Thanks, Kevin128672.  It did indeed help.   :)   I don't think I'd be comfortable using 50k coins to have a chance at the "bigger" money... just my luck, the dude or dudette that tried with 10 coins would get the prize and my 50k would be gone.   :-[

I wish I could do this myself, too, but as far as I know it's still only one per household.

Instant sweepstakes are never going to be a reliable source of income and there's really nothing you can do to increase your chances on winning, it's entirely up to chance.

I don't think Instant Cash Sweepstakes is a great place to go if you're looking to actually make some money online. It's too random and takes too long, and presumably the odds are fixed well in the favor the house. I would assume it's designed to not be susceptible to any techniques that would significantly increase an individual's chances of winning. But as long as your husband is having fun enjoy it I suppose!

Yes, I've never thought of it as a work at home job.... for him it's a stress breaker after working a 60+ hour a week high tech job.   :o

That aside, though, since he *does* do it daily on his breaks, it would be nice to build up the points/pennies faster.  I tend to agree with others here who have said there's no way to do that... it's all chance and the luck of the draw.

Is all luck and chance, but on the brighter side you don't have to take long boring surveys for a chance to earn some cash. The funds get in to your PP instantly.I earned $25 a couple of months back.I keep jumping between survey sites and never stick with one,and thus have worked with most survey sites over there. You can  win the $2 drawings, but the $50 ones are tough to get.

It sounds like an okay site, just not a big money maker. It's frustrating though because, once again, it's not open to people who live in the UK. I don't think I'm missing out on much though.

Ahh..Pity you guys dude.it is baffling to note this,because..why on earth would they not want users from UK.The only reason i can think of is that the advertisers do not want UK responses to their ads.
There are many sites which value response from your location and i could suggest a few if you like. For insance Paidviewpoint..

Sweepstakes is not a sure thing. This is risky and can be a waste of time if you don't win. I I prefer to do something a little more constructive.

So, you don't actually work to earn money, you work to earn a chance to win money? I don't understand the appeal of this.  Why would you do surveys if you don't know they are going to get you any money at the end for sure?

Is this some sort of gambling like there's no real assurance that you'll get money from doing it? I am actually not a fan of these sweepstakes. It's a risk I don't think I will ever take.

I have never won anything for the life of me when it comes to Sweepstakes! I always have to work my bottom off for a few pennies. I have a friend from church, every time she bought the lottery ticket, she won. I bellieve luck has something to do with it, and in this case, the house will always win.

I've done the sweepstakes thing before off and on but never had any luck with it. The odd cash out I guess but nothing to get excited over. I guess it is not for me though where I am trying to make a more serious income online.
