Does anyone work for Expert Planet?
« on: May 23, 2014, 02:08:32 PM »
It looks like a virtual call center job.  I checked out their site, but couldn't find anything about how much they pay.  I'm going to assume they pay varies depending on which campaign you are assigned to.  Hmmm, not sure this would work for me, but maybe for someone else.

Huh, I haven't heard of this one before. Like you said, it seems like it's just a call center job that doesn't provide an hourly wage. I think if you're willing to spend the time doing something like that, you're probably better off going to find a call center that will pay you $10 an hour, as they aren't tough to find. My girlfriend worked at a call center, and though boring, she said it wasn't too bad. Just doodled all day while calling people and asking them questions about businesses.

Where exactly does she work? If you wouldn't mind sharing. :) I've been looking for home-based call center jobs, having been in customer service, but most of which only hire those residing in the US (including Expert Planet). I've given up on Odesk as the competition is really, really stiff. Hoping to get some suggestions from you guys.

I don't work for the company, and haven't researched them as yet.I will try to learn more before I pay a whopping $60 for a background check.I never will trust any program that requires some up front payment.

I've worked for oDesk for some time and it's about marketing one's self.  Though I haven't put up a video yet, I try to make my profile as attractive as possible.  Maybe taking 2-4 tests (they're free) will help.

If a call center is unwillingly to pay you by the number of hrs worked, then it ain't worth the time and dime.
Internet reviews too aren't satisfactory and some call it a scam.
Their website too isn't convincing, not even about pay rates..

I haven't heard of Expert Planet.  I worked in a call center before and I didn't really like it.  If it something that pays you well, I'm willing to change my mind and look into it.

One thing that honestly makes me a little jittery about this company is that they say that they do not pay per minute of talk time..instead the pay is incentive or commission based.I am unsure how easy it is to earn these commissions and whether you make anything if you don't sell.

Expert Planet has not been accepting applications since august 20014.  From what I understand it is inbound sales calls and the pay ravages out to $3 .50 to $5 .50 an hour and the call volume is low. the background check was lowered to $13 dollars and is taken from your check, so you do not have to pay that upfront.  There not hiring right now anyway, but I think this is a case of a decent enough company that does not have enough work available.

I haven't heard of this one before, but call center isn't my cup of tea! I don't have a decent noise guard room to work in, and my house is constantly having distraction.

From what other users have commented, it sounds like you will fork out some money for background check, and not enough work. I hope it will work out for you and good luck!

The name sounds very vaguely familiar! But if it's a virtual contact centre, I'll probably not be eligible to join, as they usually want US residents only. Which is such a shame because customer service is my thing, I have a lot of years' experience in it and actually enjoy it. Oh well, I can only hope that this will change in the future :)

No, I have not heard of it, and I would not pay anyone more than a minimal amount to do a background check on me. I simply don't have that kind of cash. I think it is unfair for companies to require that anyway. Why do you need a background check in the first place, if you are answering calls from home??? It makes no sense.

I have never heard of Expert Planet before, but if this is a call center company, I don't think I would ever consider working for them since I am not really into phone jobs. However, this could be a profitable online opportunity for other people out there.

I really don't believe in paying any company to work for them. If they want me, they can pay for their own background checks. I mean...possibly taken out of a check but not big bucks to work there...forget that. It sounds like  a scam and a rip off.
