Best Craft Ideas?
« on: July 27, 2016, 11:33:34 AM »
Hello everyone!  :)

I am fond of doing cross stitches but I only make them for personal use. I'm trying to consider making money out of my cross stitching hobby though but I'm unsure as to how the demand is for cross stitches these days.

Have you ever sold crafts before too? What do you think is the best selling craft right now? It would be really nice to know your ideas.

I have an inventory of small crochet items and I will soon be putting them on Etsy. I'm going to try. Small items can be made very quickly and they are beautiful, unique, and homemade. There are people who will pay for that. It is a touch of the past because not very many people do it anymore. Good luck to you in your endeavor.

I believe crochet items would sell really well, especially baby items. Personalized baby blankets too. Unique jewelry might be a good idea too. People go crazy over handmade crosses.

Thank you so much cluckeyo! :) That was what I also thought of because I noticed that not too many people are doing it nowadays so the competition could be lesser. I see some displays of finished cross stitch works in craft stores but they're not as abundant as before. Maybe it has a lot to do with our fast technological age that spending time on cross stitching is no longer a common thing. I really do hope I could go far with my plans though.  :)

Doing cross stitches craft is not an easy thing to do and I had experienced making only one design and had framed it and was displayed in our living room. But me and my sister had a friend who had many cross stitches designs but she was not selling it and only for gift giving and she  had given us 2 designs placed in a bigger frame and it was absolutely beautiful as a house decor. It is expensive when you will buy it as we checked in the mall. But if you have potential buyers for your craft you can push through with your cross stitching. But for me, it is my dream to have my accessories making business someday but I need to know first what are the mechanics and how this kind of business can give good profit and return of capital investment.
