Earning with google adsense
« on: May 23, 2014, 06:15:17 PM »
About 5 years ago I was making on average around $2-$5 a day with google adsense which was pretty good considering it was completely residual.. This was at hubpages over about 80 articles roughly half of them were quality content the rest really weren't too flash. Although I don't actively use hubpages and adsense anymore I still have an account of which struggles to make a few cents a day..  I'd like to know does anyone still earn with adsense, is it worth it anymore??

Back then there were not many competitors in the advertising industry. And the good thing was affiliate marketing had not taken a small portion of those who had to rely on ads to get customers. However, when affiliate marketing became popular, and more ad networks stepped into the arena, the ad rates [what publishers earned] were slashed a little.

These days, it's a lot harder to make money with ads only because on average they pay less than they used to and it's a lot harder to get clicks because people are more likely to click on links posted within the body of an article.

So, IMO, adsense or ads in general are not worth it anymore. If you place ads on your site and also promote products/services you'd have a better chance at earning a decent income on your blog.

I always wondered if it was possible to make money from the adsense program and the equivalent program that Amazon offers. I think it has a market, though maybe isn't worth the effort. I also think it would have a lot to do with what you were advertising. Some things just have much better markets than others.

Adsense is not how it used to be. So many competitors nowadays that its hard to make a $1 a day if your lucky. i dont use adsense anymore. im doing CPA marketing which better and the rewards are much better. the only problem you may have with cpa marketing is targeting and choosing the right niche. it takes alot of trial and error but in the end it pays off.

I too used to write a lot for Hubpages and between ten and thirty cents still seem to trickle in daily. I did a lot of work there too. But both Adsense has made changes that I've heard lessen everybody's earnings and there are a ton of competitors for Hubpages now so it seems like it's very difficult to make decent money there now. Maybe if you wrote like a hub a day for a couple years or something you'd make some real money but that's a huge commitment and the time would probably be better spent elsewhere.

Adsense has never really been a great money earner for me, but then again I am just learning tricks and ways to help bring in more. I know working on several different sites, rather than one, will bring in a lot more money than just sticking to one. I am excited about postloop and a few others. I think with adsense, you have to build it up before it can really become anything major.

It never really worked for me. I had $14 with Adsense that just disappeared. I gave up using it.

It's easy if your blog/website gets a lot of views everyday, but that is a really hard task, so it turns out to not being so easy. haha
But I know a lot of people who survive by doing it.

It seems as though the best way to make money is to network with people who will actually pay you for a project.  I do a lot of work with iWriter and make about $20 per week on that site.  It is not anything to bat an eyelash at, but I only have a limited amount of time to write articles.  I imagine I could make a lot more if time allowed.

I agree with this statement. Adsense is very hard to make a living because of the saturation. It's not about the quality of your work, but how well you can market your work, and get people to see it.

I used to have a number of different blogs that I updated regularly, all with the hopes of making a little income with Adsense. It never really paid off for me, though, and I usually generate reach the $100 payout around once per year. I don't really make that much of an effort anymore, but the pennies still trickle in every now and again. Currently about 15 cents away from my annual $100.

I hear that sometimes you can just sell your advertising space directly. Adsense is hard to make a sum of money from unless you get quite a lot of hits.

Applying for adsense is one of my plans soon but hearing others experiences about this ad network is really discouraging. I know people used to earn a lot with Google adsense but now it is just a complaint everywhere on the Internet.

It's also annoying that there are many more ad network competitors out there that don't pay much either and this is very difficult for those website owners who don't get a large hit per day.

From the internet marketing courses I have learned that you need to do the proper research and you need tons of backlinks. You want automated heavy traffic. And, a way to automate backlink building is through software like SEO beast or SENuke. They both cost money but they do help you to get rankings. Also, create websites that are centered around high PPC words. If you have a general blog your not going to get alot of money.

When I first started my blog several years ago I started a google adsense account to try to monitize it. I was initially accepted but then shortly after I was banned from it and not given any reason at all so it hasn't been something that I've tried to get back into since then.

In fact, I've heard of a lot of honest people being banned from adsense.
