I have never really taken a break from online work since starting.  I have systemic LUpus and some other health problems that make it that I need to work from home.  Sometimes it is tempting to try something else if I could figure out what.  I love working online but sometimes there just doesn't seem to be enough work or enough income.

Hi Aree! :) Glad to see you as an addition here in this forum. I would also like to welcome you back to the world of online work. I see that you have had a great career in teaching and I congratulate you for that. See you around the forum! :)

Thank you for the warm welcome. I think this time I will be staying in cyberspace for a very long while. I found out, from experience, that work in cyberspace improves over time. When I was actively working online before, I could easily make a hundred dollars a week. Of course, it didn't happen overnight. It took time and effort. Mainly effort. Continuous effort. Apparently, the more work you do online, the more visible you become and the more work you get. Even better, the more work you do online, the pay you get improves. It's like you begin as a nobody, and over time with more and more exposure, you become somebody and a somebody definitely gets paid more than a nobody.

During my first attempts at online work, I usually take a two-week break so I can rejuvenate myself, then returned for another stint with another employer.  I have been on-and-off with online work, occasionally doing jobs for one or two employers.  In 2013, I still did some online work from time to time because I was reviewing for a major government licensure examination then, so I had to juggle between that and my online work.  Right now, I'm still doing some online work but I long to work for a government agency someday.  Once that happens, my online work will now just be a sideline.

Did you notice any change in your work after you take a break? I am asking because when I took a break, things changed. Changed like in there being less work to be done. It seems to me that online work is best done without a break. Apparently, being consistently online and being consistently working online makes things happen.

I've taken some breaks from online earning/work that I needed. Let me just say that coming back sucks completely as you can be out of rhythm on how to do things. I remember I took a break while moving into my new house and not being able to go back into online working for about a few weeks. It was just weird and I had a hard time getting the swing of things again like I did in the beginning. The truth is you have to be sort of obsessed with this sort of thing to make it work in the long term. If you take substantial breaks in between than you risk things taking huge steps back.

I also feel this way most of the time after taking a break for some time. It's like the motivation is hard to find, although the need to work is there. Even if I only take a break for several days, I somehow find it hard to motivate myself to do tasks online. Sometimes I even think it's better not to take a break after all, but everyone needs break every now and then, even on online work.  :)

My online work seems to go in phases, and it really does depend on my work from traditional jobs.  I always use it as a means of extra income, but of course when other work is lacking, I ramp up the efforts and focus more.  It is nice to know that it is there as a backup though, but I am not sure I can ever get to the point where I can depend on it.  Interest stuff, though, and thanks for sharing.

Yes I have done that many times when I'm not in the mood to work. Sometimes I feel irritable or sad or just plain lazy, so I tend to not work that day.

I only take breaks from online work when i have family matters so it usually is a day.  Next year we are going on an actual vacation and i will have no internet access! This is going to be hard for me, I work usually about 12-13 hours a day online, through different avenues.  My home business is all online as well (were I make most of me income), and I use other online sources to supplement my income.  Sometimes I want to take a week off becasue sometimes it feels like I work hard for little payout, my home business is still growing but I know that the hard work will be worth it!

I only take a break for one day, and I do it only when I visit my mom or I just can't work due to some family-related matter. Time is money for me and I just can't take a break that easily, I would always try to work until I can't anymore in a day. I'm currently taking a break from forumwheel though as I can't earn at least 50 credits a day there now with most of the forums I post on being gone. Currently trying out Gotranscript, hopefully, it turns out decent for me.

I do take break once in a while. You can see that it takes some effort for the projects to be done online. Not a lot one can do in such case. You'd find that taking break is not an easy thing these days. But it is necessary because health issue may occur for many. I do take break these days 10 minutes break every now and then.

I just got back from my longest break for about a year. Was at school for my semester year at college and I really didn't have time to do anything but focus on academics which stinks. Good thing though is that I got Deans List! :D

I work online full time, which measn I earn my living through working online. One of the disadvantages of working online is availability of jobs. You may not be able to find work online every day. Therefore, you should work more when jobs are available. Since there is scarcity of jobs, I never take a break from my online work. I work in the Sundays as well as during the holidays.

Of course, man! I like to enjoy with my family and friends going to the beach or to the mountain and eat well with the money that I have earned in my online work. A vacation is good for anyone.

I take a 1 to 2 day breaks whenever I feel very tired, or too stressed. Everyone needs to take a break every once in a while.
