I've sold fruit/veggie party platters
« on: August 19, 2016, 03:19:15 PM »
I love to cook, and for some reason I love to chop up and prepare produce.  So occasionally I sell high-quality fruit or veggie platters to friends for their parties.  I started by bringing them to parties for free, and people admired them and then some wanted to buy them.

Sure, it's not terribly lucrative, and I don't put a lot of effort into advertising, especially because if I started making too much, I'd have to go through the hassle of getting my kitchen licensed and a business license.  But it's fun to do for friends.

I've also made some money simply prepping fruit and veggies for people to use: For example, I peel and cut carrots so my client can just put them in a stir-fry; I cut up watermelon in chunks so the kids can grab a fruit right out of the fridge; I wash and pick through blueberries so they're ready to eat.

They usually drop off the produce at my door and pick it up when it's ready.

Just make sure you have a GOOD chef's knife, peeler, large cutting board, and a big colander and bowl to wash everything.
