Making Money from YouTube Ads
« on: September 23, 2016, 06:08:42 AM »
YouTube gives some video makers an option which involves the ability to profit from YouTube ads.  However, if one has been banned from Adsense, then it might not be a possibility.  Anyhow,  if you are approved and your video gets tens of thousands of views, then you might end up making a hefty profit.

Another way to make money from YouTube involves using your high traffic video as an ad for your own business website.

I wish my knowledge on the technical part is fluent enough on how to do videos. This idea has been mentioned many times lately, and I need to dwell on this and start learning what it needs to do this. Thanks for sharing this information.

Making money through YouTube Ads used to be a good deal. But since ad blockers are becoming more common, this is no longer a feasible or reliable way to make money. Even popular YouTubers have setup Patreon accounts so that their fans can donate funds, since they no longer earn as much as they used to from ads. But you can learn a lot of valuable video editing skills by preparing and uploading videos on YouTube, or other video sharing sites.

I feel sort of sad for all those math tutors who might have depended on those ads to make a living.  Now they would be forced to go the donation route or use the videos to redirect viewers to some premium website.  Anyway, for the most popular ones, redirection to a paid website wouldn't be a big deal.  Note, if they can only get 1 to 10 percent to buy, then they're still making killer money.

I've just set up a YouTube channel after all this time, and it's time consuming to make videos, good ones at least.

Even setting things up on the channel takes time and a lot of small print. People say it's easy, but I spent half a day setting up the channel activating all sorts, and you can only be eligible for some things when you have had over 100,000 views.

Ads are one thing, but do people click on them or by accident?

I don't have unlimited internet here, and videos are some of the most bandwidth intensive things. For that reason, any kind of advertising on youtube is not what I want to do. I just think it is not the correct thing to do if you need to watch your data use.

If you are good at making videos, you can actually make good money from your videos by uploading on youtube. You can monetize your videos through Adsense on youtube. It is really easy to get approved for ADsense if you apply through Youtube. However, the drawback of making money from yioutube is if you are rejected from adsense or has been banned from adsense, making money from youtube is nill.

What kind of money does this generate, anyone know?
It probably varies quite a bit like is there an estimate for how much a new user would make from, say, 1000 ad views?

The catch is having a video that gets even a thousand views itself is hard enough really. I tried being a Youtuber myself back then, and despite a lot of support from friends and strangers alike, it was very hard to progress to a thousand views. Unless you can find a way to make a trending video, then that would be a good game changer. There's a lot of videos worth trending in my opinion, especially if you join Youtube community groups, but they just can't seem to trend because there are so many creators now and Youtube doesn't really have a "Discover" tab.

I am supposed to be partnering my channel with youtube but so far I have not earned a single cent although I see adds on my video clips.  I did try to contact them but never get any clear response.  They in fact should from time to time let us know if we have earned, if any.

If you can bring the video views in thousands then you can definitely benefit from the Youtube videos. Creating channel is easy. Making videos can be taken care of as well. But the real part comes down to how you are getting the views. There are lot of people who are using the adblocker. So if you can manage that part then surely you'd be able to make money off it. I think we have to check niche which generates the money and act on that part.

Do you know a way to prevent people using ad-blockers on YouTube? I've come across some sites which ask visitors to turn them off, but if YouTube don't do it themselves, then I don't see how contributors have any way to ensure that viewers will see their ads. I certainly get the impression that most people aren't seeing mine.
