Agreed. I always wait before receiving my money. In some cases (like Bubblews) this means waiting for more than 2 weeks without working.

I understand everything you all said, and I fully agree but I just think in the economy that we are in and the need for money every where these days, its hard for people to just stop when they think they've really got a good thing going for them, they start to feel like they can't get a break, and that's the thing that scammers don't understand about what they do to people.

I didn't get paid twice and was very disappointed.
Which site were you working with, you can tell others so that they don't get in that mess as well, so sorry about that, such stories give me irritating shivers!

Yes, I too have been in touch with many people who have missed a few payouts and instead of stopping work they just continue to chug along expecting to be paid. This is how so many sites get the best out of its workers for free. Unless you are on an established website and the error is on the companies part and they are being transparent about the issue, find another place to work until the issue is fixed. It'd also be a really good idea to let other people know so they don't become the next victim.

I understand both sides of this debate. While yes, it seems like common sense to stop working if you're not being paid, it can be hard to actually stop. I actually experienced this myself. I cashed out for several gift cards on Swagbucks within days of each other and it soon looked like they weren't going to pay me. I told myself everyday that I wasn't going to log on and do anything for them but everyday, I broke my own rules. I had the mindset of, "oh well everyone tells me I'll get paid so I better keep building up my points" or "i'll just do enough to meet my daily goals." Its an easy trap to get into and its very easy to think, "well eventually the money will come." With Swagbucks, the money did eventually come, thank goodness.

I do agree that one should stand up for themselves, especially on online sites where it is so easy to get scammed. Too often, on survey forums, I will see comments of, "i did the survey but never got my points." Yes, that has happened to me too. The difference is that I immediately sent a message to customer service and told them about the issue. Most legitimate companies will do their best to accommodate you or at the very least come to a happy medium. I also hear complaints of, "I got halfway through a survey and was kicked out!" I've also ran into this and this is also an issue I contact customer service about. If I have gotten past the qualifying questions and to the meat of the survey and THEN get kicked out, you bet your butt I'm getting those points! I didn't just waste 15 minutes of my time telling this company what they wanted to know only to get the boot. Yet again, customer care is usually very accommodating as long as you are polite and straight forward. They can also look back at your history and see if you were actually on the survey for an extended amount of time so there's also no cases of you pulling a fast one.

If we all worked offline and gave our time to a company, we would expect to get paid and would probably demand it if the check didn't come. Why should the online world be any different. I know it can be hard but your best bet is to stand up for yourself and (even though its hard) keep your work for that site to a minimum until you see that deposit or check.

It's far too easy to trick someone into sticking around, baiting them with that potential cashout. Tons of websites will never pay you, no matter how much you earn or make for them. Of course, these scam sites aren't always easy to spot, and plenty of sites aren't scams (and therefore will pay you what you're due).

If you don't get paid according to a particular site's own terms, stop working immediately and send an inquiry to that company. If you receive no response, then report the site through as many channels as possible. Always raise awareness about scam sites to protect others from similar problems.

Exactly. As much as I'd like to continue making money, if the company doesn't pay me within the allotted time they said they would, then I would not work for them again. The first time I work for a company, I usually get to the minimum payout and cash out and wait until I get it so I can know if the company is legit or not. We all need to be very careful as there are a bunch of scammers out there who would love to use our time to make money from.

A single payment missed from a company you've barely worked for is absolutely unacceptable. For the more established websites, a missed payment with a valid reason is fine. Too many people wait one, two, three, ten cashout cycles without being paid and simply get desperate enough to keep waiting. It's a huge problem, and people need to learn to use better judgment.

I'll admit, sometimes it happens unknowingly when one gets involved with programs that pay after the work is finished. In this case, one is working on faith. But the minute the company starts withholding your earnings, it's a clear sign the company is non-legit and is taking you for a sucker. I don't like being a sucker. ;)
In the case of those sites, you need to look around and read reviews about them and their policies. You're not going to be the first person to try and get money from these places, and if you start to spot a lot of 'Hey how come I haven't been paid' kind of complaints do not work for them!

Luckily I have yet to have this problem where a company didn't pay me, though I have heard people say that they did a lot of work on SlicethePie.com and the site never paid them, so I am little worried about that because I have worked on that site from time to time and have almost reached my cash out limit.

I've had multiple experiences where I get paid very late, but never have I done work that has been for nothing. I still quit website that don't pay in less than 20 days though... the wait for my first paycheck just kills me.

You'd be surprised at how many people continue to work for an online and physical site without pay.

The 9 to 5 I have now usually gets their workers from two different temp companies.  One is shaky on paying it's employees.  Usually, there's a skipped pay check or two.  Fortunately, I never worked for these folks.  Yet, I was surprised to see some of my co-workers continuing to deal with them even when they weren't sure if they'd get paid or not.

I truly believe some people are just desperate for money, so they put up with a lot from an employer.

I always try it once. Whenever I reach the payment minimum, I ask for cash-out. After that, I don't work again until I received my payment, so I'm sure my effort isn't given away for nothing.

Only horror stories I've heard about SlicethePie is in relation to their banning policy. More often than not, they'll ban you if you're found to be using a bot to write your reviews and/or are found to be just making extremely general reviews. So as long as you're actually putting in the work, you should find that you'll have no problem with them. Let us know if you do though!

Yeah it would feel strange to just continue working when you know somethings fishy. :/
