Lionbridge Application
« on: June 01, 2014, 05:40:47 PM »
I applied for a position this Friday. I'm somewhat confident that I will get a response. I'm just wondering if anyone here has any experiences they would like to share. I have little knowledge on this whole process and would appreciate any insight.

I have done some crowd sourcing work for Lionbridge and they so far have paid on time.  What position did you apply for?  They are pretty good about emailing and letting you know the details needed to complete the job.  I've been working for them for a couple of months now and so far have had good luck!

Posting a question for a friend.
How long does it take for you to hear back from the application? He says it'll be about 2 weeks tomorrow. He's confident in his skills set that he can do the job so he isn't sure why he didn't get the email already.
Thanks

I have some questions and if somebody can clarify it for me,i would be more than grateful.
1.Is the payment rate dependent on where you live..??
2.Are payments instant or as i have read ..2 months in arrears.??
3.Since they pay in euros, should i shell out handling fees too..?

They had stated that they need max 20 hrs of work.If i don't work that much will my account be revoked..?

From what I've seen, they're usually very fast with responding, within a few days or so. If it's been two weeks...well, they have been known to take longer for certain people. This is usually if you're not quite good enough to hire right away, or bad enough to just say no to, so they'll keep your application around if you see what I mean?

Has he considered messaging them about it?

I wanted to give an update with Lionbridge. The hubby got the go ahead 3 days after I last posted. So it took a little over 3 weeks.
He said the training was long, tedious and without pay. He ran into a glitch and Lionbridge wasn't able to fix it for him so he couldn't go ahead and work.
I hope you guys have better luck than him

Not to belabor the point but do you hear from Lionbridge whether you are hired or not? Also, people who have had success with them and were hired, do you mind sharing the types of skills you have or highlighted on your resume. I already applied and have no plans of changing it but I am interested to see what type of candidate is attractive to the company because I do not know one person who has made it past just submitting their application.

I just received an email from Lionbridge requesting some additional information. I hope this means I'm not completely out of the running, I followed up immediately and hope to hear more soon. I will keep everyone posted.

I don't really enjoy these sites that make your application so difficult. It is so much better to just do an online assessment. However, I will look into this site to see what type of skills they are looking for. I do not like putting my eggs all in one basket. The more income sites I have, the better.

Nothing so far in terms of additional feedback. Does anyone know if they scan resumes or if they actually have someone reading them over for the first round of review? I'm asking because the additional information they requested from me was somewhat specific so I am trying to figure out my chances, especially now that they have all of the information they want/need from me.

I am approved for the English comprehension position. Iím worried about passing the sets of test. I checked a few forums on this topic, Iím getting the same thing; most people are having hard times passing.

Just a word of advice, if you get hired - be sure you stick to your hours and complete them.

I was hired on with them years ago, and my time management sucked! Of course, they let me go - and I haven't been able to re-apply. The pay is pretty good to be wfh, and I regret  not sticking with it. =/

The test is not easy as there are a lot of guideline to follow. Starting with a 100 page pdf file for you to read before you take the practice modules and then the final exam. This will be more than 6-7 hours of unpaid work and still you have no guarantee of getting the position.

The exam is very subjective and that is why people find it difficult. When you gauge a web page for content and validity based on a keyword then everyone has their own opinions. Yes there are guidelines to follow but there is no right or wrong. A lot of the questions are in that gray area.
