How much have you earned with Amazon?
« on: June 03, 2014, 08:10:51 PM »
I'm an Amazon affiliate but my account is going to expire soon because I never done anything to it. I never sold or promoted anything because I have been too busy with other thing.

I heard a lot of people earning hundreds from Amazon so I'm wondering how many other members have earned from selling Amazon products and do you use your blog to promote or only social media?

The rates are pretty low for mechanical jobs at mTurk. This is probably because of their hiring policy which wards off those who aren't citizens of the USA.

On an average you can expect to make $5 for around 4 hours of work.

You can make more than $5 in 4 hours by using the subreddit called HitsWorthTurkingFor. Also, if you're willing to audioscribe you can make much more, but it's tougher than most jobs.

I've read in numerous places that people claim to average about $10-$12/hour with Amazon. Is this realistic? I can understand it taking a bit of time to work up to that much and that your work has to be very high quality but after a month or so of consistent high quality work is the aforementioned hourly figure possible?

Does this mean $5 an hour with a maximum of 4 hours or something?  Or do you mean it amounts to $1.25 an hour?

I was responding to the guy from earlier who said you can expect $5 for around 4 hours of work. I just mean that you can improve on that figure by using the subreddit I referenced earlier.

I've worked for Mturk and depending on the job and how efficient you are you can make 3.50 to 5.00 dollars per hour. I am sure there are more jobs that pay more, I just haven't worked up to them yet.

I'm still fairly new with working at Amazon. However, I've already made over $20 in my first few days. So, it's definitely paying off!

That's great, I'm sure if you spend more time working there then you will be able to increase your earning. I would love to be able to make that much too from Amazon but I really don't have a consistent time working at the moment.

Thanks for all of the information from everyone who have posted something.  Glad to know that there are still more possibilities out there to check out and possibly earn some money from.

I haven't made much from Amazon. Currently, I'm sitting on about $30. That said, I haven't really promoted my affiliate links much.

It's entirely possible for people to make hundreds from Amazon. The good thing about Amazon is that it's a reputable company with a wide range of products.
As such, people are more likely to make purchases there. Of course, the commission rate is pretty low, but it does add up.

I think the OP was referring to Amazon's Affiliate program, not the MTurk website.

I haven't done anything with their affiliate program in years. I will definitely be getting back into it by the end of the year, after I get some hosting and sites in place.

I remember when I had a site, that I had some relevant books that I had listed on my site, connected to the affiliate program. Someone clicked on the link but, evidently, wasn't really sold on the book. However, when someone visits amazon via your affiliate link, any purchases made will generate a comission for you from amazon. Well, this person continued shopping on amazon and ended up buying 3 really nice ceiling fans and a couple of other things! I got a comission of around $50 from that one person's activities!! So, yeah, Amazon Affiliates is a good thing to spend time setting up. I imagine having dozens of sites with AF links sprinkled around, or maybe a review site where all the reviewed products are connected to AF links. That's got to generate some kind of passive cash flow.

I once struck it rich with amazon. The second month with Mturk,i made $200 that month and really thought i was going to great guns and that i can increase it from here.Trust me from then on,i have never crossed that $200 mark..not even once and its been more than 4 months..
The rates have dwindled and i barely make $50-60 a month..

I sold my old college books on this site and made about $200. My site is still open but haven't sold anything in about a year. I want to put more items into the online store, but have not had the time. I need to make time because it was nice to be a seller.

Being an Amazon affiliate is a bit different than working MTurk.  I'm an Amazon affiliate.  I've made some sales but nothing to celebrate over.  I've just recently started including links to Amazon products in some of my articles I have on revenue share writing sites.  This is helping build my Amazon income.  I haven't done much with MTurk.  Just never really got involved with it.
