Creating Your Own Blog
« on: June 20, 2014, 09:00:16 PM »
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to post a message to all the teens out there looking to make some money. I just wanted to recommend if you guys have some free time and are interested in making some long term money then I would recommend creating your own blog. Creating your own blog does take some time to make a return but if you blog about something that is truly enjoyable to you and regularly then you can make some nice money if you do things correctly.

I would like to add that if they dedicate themselves to their blog, it would already be big and established by the time they finished their school.

I wished I have started blogging when I was still in school because there would have been more things I was interested to talk about and imagine it would be a popular blog nowadays.

Though the point brought up here is quite good, there is a small warning from me -

Internet, as we all know, is addictive and as such, getting into blogging or anything else, should be taken up not for addiction but as a creative medium and also, the focus should not migrate from doing good at studies to the making of money via blogs.

There are many other things that these students can do - maybe try their learned skills on freelance sites - quicker and faster way to make money and also it makes use of what they are learning or have learned or even if used judiciously, these can be used as boosters to extend one's skill sets. For instance - if I know only HTML, and want to do some website designing, I can also learn CSS and some jQuery to add to my skills.

Creating a blog is a very good way for a teen to start an online enterprise. If it's on a subject that appeals to other teens it can become profitable from ads and/or affiliate sales.

Blogging also involves skills that could be added to a CV or job application form in future. These include communication skills, marketing, content creation, web design and time management.

I tried creating my own blog. I found that it just wasn't for me. It required to much time and attention for my liking. It takes a lot of effort if you want the blog to be a great one.

This is a good idea, but  it can take years before you start making any good money.  I don't know if young kids have the patience for this. I think writing on sites may be easier.

This is a good idea and is quite easy too,but most youngsters nowadays aren't patient.Creating a blog requires some waiting time to build it up,drive some traffic and then monetize it.Even i dropped out of it,at first.
Moreover, you don't get anything at start,it might lead to frustration and give a wrong impression about making money online.

Creating a blog is a fun idea for kids to start. but the only thing in your way is that you need to keep it alive because if you skipped a week or two, People gonna think that you've canceled it. You really need to always have some great ideas in mind for such thing.

To be honest, I think you have it the wrong way around. You shouldn't start a blog solely for making money.

Rather, you should blog about something you're passionate about. Readers nowadays can tell if you're just 'faking it'.
Also, you'll be motivated to keep blogging. As long as you put in effort and dedication, the money will come in due time.

I agree with John. The easiest way to head down the road of frustration is starting a blog with the intention of making money. There are over a million blogs on the net and only 10% of them make any money. It's impossible to jump out of nowhere into that 10% unless you have something totally unique to offer.

So to all teens: start your blog on any of the free platforms. Use it to learn how to blog and identify what really interests you. Once you identify your interest, focus your attention on it and just keep going. When you have created a community around you get a domain name, get ads/affiliate products to promote and hope for the best.

I tried to create a Blog but maybe I just am not that up to speed on how blogging works ;D...I even used Wordpress which is said to be "user friendly" but yeah I was completely lost. I'm glad I found this post though since there is somewhat a lot of information I can put forward to TRY again!  :o

I have looked into making a blog myself, but it seems like it would take a lot of effort and hard work to actually get it to a point that would be profitable for me. Besides, for me online work should be simple cash, otherwise I would get a real job.

Blogging is one of the best ways to make money in the long term but the problem with blogging is that it is really difficult to do things correctly. Many people who are new to blogging just lose hope with in the first week because they could not get any visitors on their website. If you want to make money in the long term you will need to make long term commitments. So do not lose hope in the start and keep working hard.
